We've been stuck in the middle for a whole 3 years (2009-2012) after having been either contenders or highly competitive for about 3-4 (2005-2009).
Waiting on high draft picks frequently takes 10-30+ years. It can be harder since you really need 2+ high picks that pan out to superstar level within a 3 year window. It's hard enough to get ONE.
Talent accrual typically only takes 5-15 tops under competent management.
I'm just glad our management plays odds instead of playing for instant gratification and/or the "potential" card. He sortof plays the potential card all the time actually, but he uses it to sucker other teams instead of build ours. How many Beasleys do we have? Darkos? Davises? None? Nice.

we were never a contender after hakeem era
just fans got all hype up with yao and t-mac thinking it will be shaq and kobe second coming
no superstar free agent want to play here unless you are contender
we don't have anyone that will attract people to come
will people want to play with lin and harden?
i don't know
right now unless you go after the #1 pick for star
you will keep having overpay for superstar pretender and avg players (definitely not going anywhere if your gm keep drafting for trade asset instead of need)
i said this many time
i have no problem if you don't want to tank
but don't traded away all your good players away to tank then decided you don't want to
sure if we didn't traded away lowry we will not get harden
but can't we at least re-sign Dragic and keep Scola?
this is like the owner want to try to compete but don't want to spend the money
Lin is not the answer
