I'm rooting for the guy and was hoping he could become a decent NBA player in a new location, but after a 21 point game in Dallas, it looks like Marvin is reverting back to his old ways. just playing too passive and not being aggressive.
Marvin has the tools to be a solid player in the NBA, i hope he can get some 20-30 point games, but i don't know if he will ever be aggressive enough to be a #1 or #2 for a team.

Gotta stop box score watching dude.
Watching the Jazz play, they have to move Al Jefferson and/or Millsap and get Kantor and Favors on the floor with Marvin, haywood and Mo Williams (who has really been shooting too much by the way).
They seem intent on pounding it inside to Al(who looks like a black hole honestly) and Millsap.
Marvin has been a good defender (on a squad whos starting group basically looks like Marvin and Haywood trying to cover everyone). They went to him a lot in game one and in their second game (he didn't shoot well) and went away from him since.

you should actually watch a Jazz game before posting, but Marvin's shot attempts was pretty much the same throughout the first three games. so even the good game he had, he didn't even take that many shots.
secondly, like you said, it was all jump shots and Marvin was not putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket or getting to the line, so same old Marvin, not being aggressive and just being passive with jumpshots.
their are no penetrators on the Jazz and it looks like Marvin is happy enough to just be another jump shooter.

For Marvin to become that player he was expected to be he is going to need a coach that believes in him. If you don't call his number he will not shoot. He can defend his position good. I always thought the perfect team for him is the spurs. But with Utah he is gone get lost in the crowd. U have moe Williams, al Jefferson and Paul milshap taking more shots then him. A good season for Marvin would be if he can average 12 to 15 ppg. If Utah give him at least 12 shots he will get it easily. Marvin don't take bad shots. He has turned it a good 3point shooter. It just depends if the coach call his number. In Atlanta Larry drew gave up on Marvin.

What tools? He can't put the ball on the floor, can't create his own shot, can't post down in the paint. He's got to rely on his D, which isn't bad but isn't that great either and also in being a spot up shooter since he can't handle the ball. Besides all of that, he lacks the most important factor in being successful in the league, confidence. If it wasn't for his size I doubt Marvin would start for any team in the NBA.
GO HAWKS.

As I stated, I watched the game. With Jefferson on one block and not stepping out and Millsap down low and not stepping out, they are basically preventing the slash game(which MAGICALLY appears when they are out).
The jazz are a jumpshooting team but they don't have to be if they would move the Albotross in the middle. They should be a uptempo team, they are built for it, but sadly, they aren't.

yeah, well we all knew that was going to happen before the season started. Joe shooting .390FG, next to "one of the best PGs in the game" . and Deron's efficiency, even with Joe and Brook is the lowest it has been, since he was a rookie.
funny and sad at the same time. I'm still a fan of Joe, and i like the guy, he came to Atlanta when few would, and helped the Hawks become a top 4 team in the east.
