Week 9 Start/Sit
So what's everyone got this week?
I'm personally debating if I can deal with Skelton throwing to Larry Fitzgerald again.
The problem is I have no one to plug in for him, but I'll look at the wire.

If you're going to the wire, you probably have to roll with Fitz still. He put up numbers in the first few games of the season, so it's not like Skelton automatically kills his value.
My decisions:
RB - Murray (@ATL), Sproles (v. Phi), Dwyer (@NYG), Leshoure (@Jax), Stewart (@Was)
WR - Cruz (v. Pit), Maclin (@NO), Decker (@Cin), Gordon (v. Bal)
Need 2 RB, 2 WR, and a flex. Cruz is an automatic this year. Gordon's probably out. The rest of those guys are all in the same tier for me -- I can make an argument to start any of them.

Nothing? For what it's worth, I need high upside. He had the Chiefs defense last night (who put up 23). He's also trotting out Rodgers, Ray Rice, McGahee, VJax, D. Moore, and Demaryius Thomas.

cruz
decker
sproles
dwyer
leshoure
You're already starting Cruz, Decker is on a roll, Sproles is multidimensional and always a scoring threat, Dwyer if he starts, Leshoure has a good matchup. Basically my last 2 spots are between Leshoure, Dwywer and Jstew. I left JStew out because he hasn't shown anything worth starting yet.
For me-
Standard scoring
choose 1 rb:
FJax @ Hou
R Jennings vs Det
Spiller @ Hou
choose 1 wr:
T Smith @ Cle
A Brown @ NYG
Right now I have FJax and A Brown penciled in. I chose FJax because even though he's in a timeshare, he's getting the edge in touches per game and Spiller is dealing with a sore shoulder. No team has scored a rushing TD on Hou yet though. Jennings plays a tough Detroit DST against the rush, but could be effective in the passing game. I'm tempted to start Torrey because he had 90+ yards and a TD earlier this year vs Cle, but they get Haden back. A Brown doesn't score TDs, but has a good match-up against a banged up Giants team.
Thanks

Thanks. I'm on board with most of what you're saying, but I'm VERY tempted to start Maclin (playing the Saints' generous pass D) over Dwyer (potential time share).

I'd be VERY tempted to go Jennings. I fully expect Houston to annihilate the Bills. Buffalo will be lucky to crack 14 points. Jennings is guaranteed ALL the work, and even if the Jags fall behind he'll be on the field and involved.

Brown. Flacco is BRUTAL on the road. The Steelers will probably throw a lot in the short game to mitigate the Giants' pass rush, which means lots of looks for Brown.

You could easily go Maclin, I agree. I usually have a rule to use a RB over a WR as a flex unless of course, the WR is a way better player. That's why I didn't choose Mac. You're right though, you have a tough choice to make!

Re: Week 9 Start/Sit
Sproles out with a broken hand and Dwyer doubtful with a hammy. Guess that made my decision easier...
Stewart, Leshoure, Cruz, Maclin, Decker. Gordon on the bench. Dwyer, Sproles, Murray all benched with injuries, and Gronk on a bye. Sigh.
By the way, I'm NOT running to pick up Redman, because he's terrible. Expect a TON of passing from the Steelers. Brown (and all Steelers receivers) becomes a better play than before this injury news.
NB: Guess I'm all in on the Panthers this week -- starting Cam, Stewart and Olsen. Even though they're playing the Redskins' brutal defense, that's a scary, scary thought.

Dang. Double edged sword there! Your decision has been made easier, but the outcome may not be so bright. Good luck!
On a similiar note do you think I could get M Ryan/Sproles by offering my Eli/Ridley or Eli/Mathews? I need to upgrade my QB and my backs are Ridley, Mathews, JStew, Dwywer, Hillis. Will that leave me too thin at RB?

Re: Week 9 Start/Sit
Man, I don't know if I'd do that. I think I'd rather just drop Hillis for a waiver wire QB on weeks when Eli has a bad matchup. Mathews isn't a #1 back this year, and you've got big question marks after him (same ones as me...). Don't let last weeks brutal game throw you -- Eli will be just fine as your #1 QB IMO.

Thanks. Haha sorry, since last week I've been on panic mode with Eli. I was thinking of going for RG3 or Peyton, but I think you chimed in on that and said to stick with Eli. I'll just stay put.

Re: Week 9 Start/Sit
Well Sproles being out makes me forced to play Larry Fitzgerald and Titus Young. I picked up Thomas incase it is 8 weeks.

You'll probably will be down to Leshoure and Stewart. Murray and Dwyer would be tough matchups anyways.
WR - Cruz (v. Pit), Maclin (@NO), Decker (@Cin), Gordon (v. Bal)
Cruz, Decker, and Maclin. I don't see Gordon maxing above 14 points.
Anything could happen, my opponent last week was projected over 150 and only got 80.

Re: Week 9 Start/Sit
I just realized that I wrote Chiefs when I (obviously?) meant Chargers. And they got bumped up to 25 points. Argh! Hoping for an off Rodgers day (could happen, esp with Jordy maybe out), a Cam Cameron classic "Let's only give Rice 10 touches" day, and busts from his WRs.
I'm currently in first (somehow) at 6-2, so a loss won't kill me this week. Need Murray to come back healthy soon though.

Re: Week 9 Start/Sit
I needed 5 points from Maclin for the win, 4 for the tie. 2 catches for 28 yards. Michael Vick can choke on a dog biscuit. Holy crap that team is terrible.
