I am concerned that someone will offer him a max contract or close. I don't know if Taylor would sign off on that and I think it would piss off Love if they did.

It's a concern, but I think Pek wants to resign here and he's a very humble guy and I don't think money will be his #1 motivating factor. I'd say 95% odds we resign him.

If Horford or Marc Gasol didn't get a max, Pek wont. I love Pek but they are two players who are better on both sides of the ball.

I think Pek is better on O than both those guys. Defensively they are better though. If Brook Lipez can get max, Pek can definitely get max. Especially when your name is Paul Allen and you have a sore ego.

This. Pek definitely comes across as a super loyal player that would take less to re-sign here.

I hope we can sign him for 4/40M, IMO that's what he's worth, although I expect him to get closer to 4/48M.

If he puts up 20-10 the rest of the year he gets the max no question, he looks like a poor man's prime Shaq out there, so damn strong.

The thing I'm noticing from him even more this year is how good he is at defending without fouling.
Sure a "defensive" center would be a better "fit" next to Love, but those defensive bigs are also more likely to be foul prone.
