Trading Harden = Ticket on the Titanic

Post#1 » by OlDirtMcBert » Mon Nov 5, 2012 2:25 am

Not one player left on the team that makes others around him better. Kept Westbrook and Ibaka, rather than a savvy, mature, calm, playmaker. Tragic. Westbrook's trade value, IMO, was considerably less than Hardens but he's still the guy you move. Now opponents just need to bottle up KD and allow Westbrook to fail. This team is nowhere near as good as they were.

They'll still be very good... but to me the swag, explosion, and dynamo of their offense won't quite be there anymore... Harden was a chemistry maker for you guys

Perry Jones III i think could be very important for you guys to be that x-factor player with energy

Titanic is right, Just look at what harden has been doing. Ridiculous. Even with Kevin martin hitting his shot's well, the Thunder left alot more on the table with Harden. They should have just found a way to pay him, but I guess they felt Martin could fill his shoes.

I really cant believe Thunder management chose to pay Ibaka rather than keep Harden.

I'm a Laker fan soaring above the ocean on Mike Brown's back. It looks like its sinking, but I think that the team will overcome the loss of Harden. Westbrook might make mistakes, but he's still the 4th best PG in the league right now (D-Rose is injured). They'll be just fine.

Like most things in life, the decision to trade Harden came down to $$$. Harden wanted the max contract that OKC could not afford, so that made it pretty easy for Presti to say goodbye to him. But don't let Harden's off-the-charts scoring fool you...it's only been 3 games and he's playing in a role that allows him to shoot & play more, (with OKC last season, Harden averaged 31.4 MPG; with Houston, Harden averages 41.7 MPG).

But the Thunder are far from sinking. Despite his rocky start, Kevin Martin has found his groove, shooting 8-11 against ATL and staying perfect from the free-throw line. Ball movement has improved with Westbrook dishing to Martin for several 3's, and KD averaging close to 7 APG. If Martin regularly contributes like that off the bench throughout the season, then OKC could be in better shape than we thought.

Give it time, and the pieces will fall into place, as they already are.
