I assumed you'd like Green. Now I'm stumped as to how you don't know that Gooden is one of the worst players in the league.

Not at all upset to see Gooden playing zero role for this team right now.

He is there in case of an injury and that is the perfect spot for him.

Stoked and ready for the Grizz tomorrow night.
Ball so hard.

I have always thought he'd be fine if masked by a good defensive center. The Bucks mis-used Godden at center, he is ill-suited to banging with big guys, and he is best suited to playing power forward. His defense still sucks, but his offense is good. Looking at 82 games, in 10-11 the Bucks won 50% of their games when using a line-up of Jennings, Salmons, Delfino, Gooden, and Bogut. It seems that any line-up including Mbah a Moute severely affected the wins that unit produced. I think in the right situation, playing less than 30 minutes a game, Godoen could be a solid role player on a championship team. I don't believe that his bench banishing is a reason for the Bucks being 2-0.

With all of that said, I understand why he isn't getting court time. You have young bigs to develop, and Gooden only would be getting court time at center, a position he is incapable of playing at a reasonable level. Reading all of your posts, he seems like a prime candidate to be traded.... I guess it's just a case of to whom? I wonder what would happen if the Lakers came knocking with a Gasol, and Meeks for Gooden, Ellis, and Mbah a Moute deal. I'm guessing the Bucks say no due to Gasol's age, over-stocking at PF/C, and their need for a shooting guard. Getting out from under the 3 year contract would be tempting though.

.43 fg% is good offense for a PF?

If the rest of the roster looks like Lebron, DWade, Ray Allen, Chris Bosh, Rashard Lewis, I bet Gooden could play a role on a championship team. Any other scenario, I highly doubt it.

1,000% of Bucks fans would make that trade.

I believe you might like the idea of Gooden because you haven't seen him on the court for your favorite team. Box scores are misleading. He's straight garbage.

He is a black hole on offense, and the worst defensive player in the league.

Pretty much a poor man's version of Al Jefferson

Gooden has been a fantastic cheerleader for us atm. Really gets into it. Seems like a good guy to but I'm glad he hasn't seen the floor yet.

I think Gooden only played 25 games that year, not sure how many he played with those guys but i can't see it being many as we were like 10 games under 500.

Rondo2Hondo wrote:If he gets waived, I hope we grab him as a bench rebounder. I'm just shocked to see him get no court time when the forwards ahead of him are such low-skill players.

I understand people having a negative opinion of Drew, but he has a lot more basketball smarts than Sanders, and Udoh offers nothing offensively. Henson can't develop fast enough.

Anyway, I just wanted to see what was going on with him. The Bucks are playing some exciting ball this year, I'd feel more comfortable tuning in if they traded Monta Ellis (my least favourite player ever).

Drew Gooden does not have alot more basketball smarts than anyone in the NBA. The guy makes dumb play after dumb play every game. He is terrible on Defense. He has the skills to be a good offensive player and he looks like it on some nights, but most of the time you just wish he was off the court. He is a good passer, when he's not throwing it into the stands. Also his negative impact on Defense far outweighs what he brings on Offense. Larry Sanders has 13.5ppg 7rpg and 3bpg, 81%FG off the bench in his first two games. His defensive impact is huge. He fouls alot. But he affects the game in a great way for our team. His defense far outweighs Drew Gooden's offense. His restraint on taking poor jump shots and just finishing off rebounds or when he's open down low has shown that he is growing as a player. He is far superior to Gooden. Udoh is not that great. But he plays defense. For a team that has looked as fluid as we have on the offensive side since the trade, we need some strong defenders. Gooden sometimes looked good in the offense after the trade last season. But he was by far the worst defender on the team and was a big reason why we couldn't stop anyone. We need more Defense and less Offense from the 4/5 when we have Jennings, Ellis, Harris, Dunleavy, Udrih, and Lamb playing at the 1-2-3. All offensive oriented players.

I like Barbosa too much. A small part of me is hoping we trade Rondo at the deadline for a Tyreke Evans/ THomas Robinson package. I don't think we look like we're able to beat the Heat as constructed.

Do you see the Bucks making the playoffs? You look like a solid frontcourt player away, and a Monta Ellis trade away!

You clearly haven't watched him play. Offensively he is fair, but is a black hole. Defensively he is non-existent. Literally not even there. Its like when the ball changes position he turns into the blue ghost from Pacman.

One of our positives through 2 games is that he hasn't sniffed the floor. That doesn't tell you enough?

Barbosa is garbage, but I'd give you Gooden for his expiring deal. If you like Tyreke we'll give you his mini-me clone in Ellis, and Gooden can miss long 2s as good as TRob. I'd take Rondo in a heartbeat, easily my favorite player in the league which says a lot since I hate the Celtics.

Ellis is horrible. Easily the most overrated player in the league.

Last seaso nI was hoping we would trade Rondo and filler (maybe Green or O'Neal) for Bogut and Jennings. It seemed fair to me.

Ellis is bad but Tyreke Evans is good? You really should've called us earlier on the Rondo for Bogut+Jennings deal, I think we even would've let you keep Green to make that happen. Tell you what, we'll give you Jennings+Gooden for Rondo+Bradley, sound good to you? lol
