Definitely.

That's probably my favorite picture, period. I have no idea how many times it's been my Facebook profile pic.

But there's no picture that captures passion for the sport and all of the desire/drive more than that one.

Kindly do not say this to posters; it is inappropriate

May not be as iconic but find that photo one of the coolest at least in basketball history and captures the photographer's ability to snap at the exact moment it happened.

Just incredible.

I feel like that primitive part of our brain that says "DUDE DONT DO THAT YOULL FALL ON YOUR FACE AND DIE" was long gone in Rodman. You know, that part of your brain that stops you from randomly crashing into a tree just for kicks when you're driving a car because you don't want to kill yourself..... Dude would have been an incredible skater.

I mean really, parallel with the floor? To save a ball? Even baseball players avoid this on grass. We'll never see that again.

Rodman would be the greatest warrior/soldier. The general's like "GO GET HIM!" and Rodman just charges at the other army yelling with a stick....

Not even close.

He's way high in the air, nowhere near parallel, has more than enough chance to land ok.

Rodman was going straight into the ground parallel, STILL just trying to get the ball.

That's why neither pic is nearly as impressive, athletic, or risky.

A picture from a random, meaningless game with absolutely no meaning on top 100 sports photos of all-time? Yeah, probably not gonna happen.

How is the fish picture even a SPORTS photo to begin with?

Even if we accept fishing as a sport, the fish isn't part of that sport until there's a hook in its mouth. Yes, the fish might be caught in a sports-fishing competition one day. But that's like saying a picture of me walking down the street is a sports photo because I might get signed by the Lakers one day.

Forget getting the selection and/or order wrong - SI doesn't even know what's a sport.

The more I see this pic, the more you have to appreciate players like Rodman. I mean there's nothing to break his fall except for the hardwood. And just the people in the background watching in amazement. Top 10 in my books.

Considering SI has been known for having some of the greatest sports photos of all time in their magazines, I simply don't get what the hell they did here. Their covers are especially iconic, and if you've ever seen one of their coffee table books, they're awesome.

What's going on here?! The order doesn't make any sense, and there are plenty of omissions / odd choices.

I've seen some terrible lists ranking all kinds of things in my day, but this is the worst list I've ever seen on any subject. Ali/Liston is 93, Wilt's "100" isn't even in there at all, and yet a non-descript photo of Penn State's football field is 68th, and picture of a trout is 35th?

Otherwise I have no idea what you're talking about.

Nope, that's a different sport. Not about the biggest sporting event in the world every 4 years.
