Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
Seems like heading into the NBA season all the free time I have for stuff like this will be filled in by actual NBA games than playing 2K. Haven't had the time to play my player in same time. Oh if any of you remember and have been following, to my surprise we gutted out a game 7 win against the Clips and are about to face off the Lakeshow in round 2. I'm stunned, they completely destroyed us the three times they won, seemed impossible to win four games out of seven.
I averaged 22/10/9.5 for the first six games, but I got a bit selfish in game 7 as I felt like I had to score for us to win, so I didn't finish the series averaging a TD.

I killed Kemba in the rookie all star game finishing with 43pts, 13 assts, 4 stls, 3 rebs and 2 blocks.

I hit 10 three's for the 40 points. My player is a 3pt specialist, so any room and I launch it. His season % is mid 40's, but he was on fire against Kemba.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
Simmed a couple seasons in My Player and signed with the Thunder who are starting Ibaka, Jason Thompson, Harden, Durant, and Westbrook with PJ3 as an 82-rated supersub. I'll probably never start (I have yet to start an NBA game as a 6'4 PG who has now played behind Rondo, Deron Williams for a half season in Brooklyn, and now Westbrook) but I love being a 6th/7th man because I still put up semi-reasonable stats (18ppg, 7apg, 2spg) but I do it in about 20mpg instead of the usual 36. Reggie Jackson is rated really highly, but he's total garbage, and hogging the ball and is total garbage. I'm getting him out of there. Westbrook fouled out in one of the three or four games I've played so far and Reggie Jackson hogged the ball instead of me, Harden, or Durant only to brick a highly contested game saving shot when Harden and me were both wide open. My teammate rating plummeted from a B to C+ from me spamming the call for the ball button. That really had me worked up.
James Harden is godly and Jason Thompson is the worst 7-footer I have ever seen in this game. I've probably scored more with Diop and I'm pretty sure I played better D in the first game of my career when Doc Rivers told me to play the role of a 6'4 PF when I could do nothing but take uncontested corner threes and pass. For all its quirks, this is easily my favorite 2k yet. So addicted.

I'm predictable as hell, first player is always a defensive Centre. Always used to be a Bradley clone but they dropped the maximum height to 7'2 (which I hate).
Then I go a 3pt shooting point guard because I love to shoot and I get sick of having to wait for the point guard to give me the ball.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
6'6 PG (Athletic) lit up the rookie showcase for 44 points 19 assists and 7 reb and 7 steals plus 3 blocks on allstar, the game being more fluid makes it easier. I was projected to go 1st overall but the Hornets passed me up in favor of Anthony Davis- so instead I was drafted by the Bobcats with the #2 pick. 70+ games into the season and I am still not a starter, not that Im really going to complain as Ive been simming the vast majority of games. I had a huge 2nd game vs the Hornets where I went off for 51 points 18 assists 6 rebounds 11 steals and 1 block, but I am more proud of the game following that one, it was Bobcats Bulls, and was a pretty close game the entire time. I had been able to keep scoring pace with Rose (who is **** impossible to guard). We were down by 2 entering the 4th quarter (98-96) and I got the dynamic goal to score 10 in a row- I continued to shoot 1-5 to start the 4th quarter, however with 3 minutes left and the Bobcats down by 6 (106-100) I got my groove on, posterizing Jimmy Butler and drawing a foul- which I drained the free throw for (106-103), I then managed to steal the ball from Noah while he was trying to backdown Biyombo in the post and managed to drain a 3 pointer (106-106) following this play the Bulls turned the ball over- only for us to turn the ball over- and Noah to score with 10.3 seconds remaining (108-106), The ball was passed inbounds to me, and I pulled up for a 3pter with 4.7 seconds left (they had no-one around the boards- so even if I missed it would have been a guaranteed 2 pt play)- and to my surprise I drained it, my first game winning shot.
Nba 2k13 is miles better than 2k12 was. Right now the Bobcats sit at 37-32 and look like they should secure the 6th seed in the East.

Ha ha I used to do the same thing, I also loved being a defensive center. Playing in the post, blocking shots, making alley oops. Now, that I think about it - forget my point forward my player where I'm already in the second round in the playoffs. I want to play some center now

Ugggghhhhhh, Motionjoys website is down, which means my DS3 tool that allows me to use my PS3 controller with my game won't work. **** YOU MOTION JOY- I WAS GOING TO GO TO THE PLAYOFFS TODAY URRRGH!
On a less irating note here are some stats and fun facts about the season:
Top 5 Scorers:
1. LBJ 29.8ppg
2. James Harden 28.0ppg
3. Carmelo Anthony- 26.4ppg
4. Kevin Durant- 25.8ppg
5. Derrick Rose- 24.6 ppg
A note on the Rookies: If the real life rookie class came anywhere near to duplicating the NBA2k13's rookie classes results is would be the greatest draft in NBA history.
The Leaders:
Anthony Davis- 18ppg 11.1rpg 2.0bpg
Damian Lillard- 16.7ppg 6.2apg
Jeremy Lamb (note he is a 6th man)- 14.3ppg (in 20min!)
Xavier Waters (me, 6th man)- 13.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.2apg, 1.7spg (in 18mpg)
Moe Harkless (6th man)- 9.8ppg 3.1 rpg
Valanciunus (**** his name)- 15.1ppg 10.2rpg; I totally boosted this guys stats when I edited rosters- the 59 overall and bull potential they gave him was dissapointing enough
Jared Sullinger- 14ppg 7.4 rpg (starter, Celts traded Jeff Green for some scrub).
MKG- 17.8ppg 8.3rpg 1.5spg 1.3bpg
Wroten- 4.4pg 4.5apg
---------
Positive surprises (teams)
1. Rockets- sitting at 36-35 the Rockets have really managed to make some noise this year despite being a preseason forethought.
2. Grizzlies- 37-35, I thought they would tank, apparently not.
3. Bobcats- 37-32, Great production out of everyone, Biz is averaging 11.2ppg 8.2rpg 2.6bpg Mully is averaging 8 points in 12 minutes, Very solid back court rotation (PGs Kemba (16ppg 5.8apg), Me (13.5ppg 4.2apg), and Sessions (7.2 ppg, 3.4agp)). I would like to see us get rid of Gordon (because he sucks in game for some reason, and because Hendo is unstoppable in game) and T2 (I hate him)....

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
Like I said earlier, I've simmed to the 15-16 season. Jennings and Ellis are literally the best duo I have ever seen in a video game. They just lit me up for 40 and 42 respectively in the same game and they both PLAY DEFENSE. Luckily for me though, the very next game I was able to play the defenseless backcourt of Curry and Nate Robinson and light them up for 37 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block, and no turnovers shooting 17-20 and going 3-5 from distance in less than 20 minutes.
Lebron James joined the Mavericks in 2014 and Carmelo Anthony was traded to Miami for Bosh and a 1st weeks later. Kemba is a three-time all-star with a career average (yes including his real rookie season) of 20 points and 6 assists on 44/35/85.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
well the Grizzlies managed to flame out as the season concluded, they were 1 game away from having the 7th seed locked up, then decided to lose 5 straight- good for them. Anyways I contributed to their misery, by having my best game with 27 points, 27 assists, 11rebounds, 10 steals, 3 blocks, 2 TO.... Yeah pretty monster game- it was also my first game as a starter, MKG decided to shoot 80% and was a huge source of my assists, as he had 34 points. Biyombo had a pretty good game (not his best this season) as he went for 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks on 75% shooting....
Biyombos best game came against my 4th and final game matched up against the Heat, I got 22 minutes in the game and managed to score 42 points and nab 16 assists. Biyombo broke out for 22 points 20 rebounds 4 assists 6 blocks on 89% shooting, it was probably the most unbelievable game Ive ever played in, as we won 111-110 on a last minute putback by Biyombo (off a Kemba Walker miss-shot).

I just finished it. Rather anticlimatic ending. One of those games where you can arm yourself enough that the finale is a bit of a walkthrough.
I did have it on normal difficulty though.

so for something different I thought I would try the make a legend game. Which appears to be the my player mode with a current player.
Anyhow I think I have solved our center problems as in 6 minutes I got Diop to score 11 points and grab 5 rebounds.
So all we need to do is get me to remote control Diop's body for every game and we're set!

How does that work? I remember last year you could insert Michael Jordan into the league as a rookie and that was the legend mode.

Just managed to score 21 pts in 20 minutes. The rebounding on this game still annoys me, I got out rebounded by Ben Gordon FFS.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
Playoffs Time for my Rookie PG:
Round 1:
East
(1) Heat vs (8) Wizards- Heat win 4-1: Simply put the Wizards just couldn't outplay the heat, heck it was a miracle they got to the playoffs anyways.
(4) 76ers vs (5) Bobcats- Bobcats win 4-1: The Bobcats had me in as a starter, so I basically killed Jrue Holiday every game and averaged 24 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists during the series.
(3) Nets vs (6) Raptors- Raptors win 4-3: Lowry has been a man among boys in the playoffs, averaging 22pts 5 rebounds 8 assists vs the Nets, the Raptors simply had better scorers and also I imagine that having a true center in Valanciunus impacted things a great deal as well.
(2) Bulls vs (7) Pacers- Pacers win 4-1: I have no clue how this could have happened, but from looking at the box-scores it seems that DJ Augustin had 2 monster games to start out the series (20pt 10 assists games) and Paul George was just being a killer in general (Averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds). Still a shocker though
West
(1) Lakers vs (8) Rockets- Lakers win 4-1: the scoring combo of Harden and Lin just wasn't enough (Lin averaged 21 ppg 7assist during season, Harden averaged 27ppg during season), despite Harden averaging 32.3 ppg during the series the Lakers benefited from having great play from Nash/Howard/Kobe through the series.
(4) Spurs vs (5) Clippers- Clippers win 4-2: CP3 and Griffin had some great games, but Jamal Crawford may have been the reason why the Clippers won the series, after all a 6th man who averages 23ppg off the bench (his series averages) is a huge bonus.
(3) Timberwolves vs (6) Nuggets- Nuggets win 4-1: This comes as almost a surprise given the level of play that the Wolves were getting during the regular season, however the Nuggets got some great minutes from Lawson and McGee (who leads all playoff players with 14.2 rpg)....
(2) Thunder vs (7) Warriors- Thunder win 4-3: Wow the Warriors over achieved during this series, leading the series 2-0 before the Thunder finally got their act together.
Round 2 Matchups:
East
(1) Heat vs (5) Bobcats- God knows we are going to get shat on.
(6) Raptors vs (7) Pacers- Whoever wins this series gets the honor of being RoflStomped by the Heat.
West
(1) Lakers vs (5) Clippers- I don't think the Clippers have what it takes in the 2k world where CP3 only averages 19ppg and 7apg....
(2) Thunder vs (6) Nuggets- The Thunder are bound to win this series. The Nuggets may have over achieved versus the (playoff) inexperienced Wolves, but the Thunder have made the playoffs their home....
Season Award Winners:
MVP: Lebron James
DPOY: Dwight Howard
ROY: Anthony Davis
6th Man: Me!

figured out the rebounding problem. Diop has a really low rating for defensive rebounds, low 70's, but he has 99 for offensive rebounds. No wonder I was getting more O rebounds than defensive. I have cranked his defensive rebounds up now, so I can reach double digit rebounding.
Dunlap has been impressed with my play so Diop is getting a bit more time, even playing Pf with Haywood at centre
I wish I could capture some of the footage of the post moves I've been pulling off with the big fella, they even have me closing the game now and have even gone to me for the clutch baskets at the end of the game. Weirdly they go with Biyombo and me to close games.
