Talented big man with good smarts... Excellent passer... Good rebounder... Already an effective scorer... Must improve defensive skills.

The Kings are looking to build on their first win of the season, beating Golden State 94-92 on Monday behind 23 points and 15 rebounds from DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins has totaled 44 points and 28 boards in his last two games after he had 25 and 11 in the season's first two contests.

"I've started the season off pretty rough," Cousins said. "I know the way I play affects this team in a lot of ways."

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

I am stoked for the game. This is one we should win given that detroit is playing a back-to-back and they have been playing pretty poorly. That said, Greg Monroe has had great games on us and is the main danger for the kings. Stuckey has been playing pretty poorly and I look forward to our defense slowing him down even more.

Some interesting storylines will be Andre Drummond vs Thomas Robinson. Drummond has had a great preseason and a so-so start to the regular season. He is undeniably athletic, coordinated and shows flashes of talent but he sometimes looks lost on the floor and his effort is a problem. Looking forward to this.

Kings are second in opponent fg% and first in opponent 3pt%?!? That is something I thought I would never see.

Man, I don't think that I have ever seen an opening schedule as bad as Detroit's.

This should be the most winnable game of the season so far. Then again, the Kings tend to play to the level of their opponents so I'm not too confident about this one.

It's early in the season.

I hope Cousins tears Monroe apart.

The Pistons are a bad team. We should win easy. I just want to see Evans show up tonight.

and

#1 in opponent eFG%
#6 in DRtg

BUT our offense blows

#30 in ORtg
#29 in eFG%
#28 in FG%
#22 in 3PT
#20 in pace

The team defense is our calling card so far.

Offense seems like an easier fix than defense from my point of view. We have scorers and we have shown the capability to score. With good defense, we will always be in games.

Stuckey killed us in both games last season. Let's see how much reke's defense has really improved.

Agreed. If we play basketball and not watch tyreke take it to 4 defenders a still shoot it ball I like our chances.

This lineup is criminally small.

Yes, we are winning, but I'm seriously sick of Smart and his sub pattern of "Keep starting 5 in almost entire 1st quarter, don't bring them back until 4 minutes left in the 2nd". Why the hell doesn't he mix the lineup up?
