The Spurs are off to their first 4-0 start, and have played solid ball this season. As usual, Tony parker and Timmayyyy doing their thing.
Meanwhile, the Clippers got off to a hot start, beating the Grizz and Lakers, then decided to **** the bed and drop games to the hapless Warriors and Cavs :nonono:

Clippers need to come out tonight with fire and energy, can't keep having to come back from double digit 4th Q deficts. Thats not a way to success.

Tim Duncan is looking 25 years old, averaging 19 and 10. That will be a tough matchup for Blake.
The PG matchup with Chris Paul and Tony Parker will be a dandy.

Good luck charm:

from how we've been playing I can't see us winning this one. I'd love them to prove me wrong though.

Interesting to see how Blake plays with his sore elbow and overall how our bigs rebound and hustle after it's a clear problem to start this year.

Nice GT Matt.

It's not a great match-up for us under any circumstance, but it's especially bad with us currently on a 2 game skid.

The Spurs are a team that is not going to make a lot of mistakes and are coached by the best in the league. Last season, the Spurs decided to push the tempo a little more. They were 7th in pace and now they're back down to 24th, while we've seen a flip flop in the opposite direction. They're towards the bottom of the league (lower than us) in offensive rebounding rate, but they're also one of the most efficient teams in the league.

We need them to either have an off-game where the shots aren't falling or for everything to be going our way with our players firing or all cylinders. A combination of those 2 things would be great. So far, we've beaten the playoff teams and have lost 2 the non-playoff teams (or at least non-2012 playoff teams), so I'm hoping that our guys up for this game.

protect the basketball.

when the ball goes up...hit first.
it's that simple.

we can't even get into Xs and Os with pop unless those two things are non-issues for us tonight.

Who knows we may turn it on tonight and beat the Spurs. There's motivation for us to play well, while there wasn't much motivation against the Warriors or Cavs. I'm just gonna watch and see how this turns out. This game could really go either way.

We're still missing some pretty important guys, we're going to have to have one of those special nights to pull this one out.

Willie Green is the first Clipper to score with a long jumper

Willie Green doing good things.

Hey Neddy, Matt volunteered you to make the Portland Game Thread. How do you feel about that?
