It's really good to have a solid option to throw the ball down to in the low post BESIDES Griffin. And yeah, the Inside the NBA crew and ClipperBlog (if anyone follows them), those guys really highlighted how much he's improved. Thinking about how he was basically a nonfactor in the playoffs and seeing these performances from him is so satisfying. I love how he's working for his check. He's surrounded by great players and a great environment because this is atypical from players in similar situations (just use Kaman as an example).
I know, it's just two games, but still, satisfying if he can keep it up.

hey, i am hopeful that one day DJ can be even more capable contributor than blake, just saying his two great games aren't large enough of a sample to crown him for anything just yet.
but with DJ's length and width, he is much better equipped to be a low post threat than griffin with his lack of arm length
ehhhhh f it.

Re: Preliminary Discussions on DJ being the MIP
It's too early to give DJ any kind of love like MIP but I love what's coming out of him. His hook-shot shows he's been working on it but he lets his legs fly out too much when he's in the air. But it means that he's committed to improving himself as a player and be the best player he can be. The defense has always been there for him but if he makes team have to respect that inside presence, this team becomes much more dangerous.
This is why I really want Blake Griffin to improve his jump shot, he still doesn't follow-through on his jump-shot or free-throws. If Blake learns that and shows that you have to respect his game, the Clippers will be deadly. CP3 is a beast, Crawford is playing great and maybe the fans skepticism about his new deal and getting rid of Nick Young, lit a fire under Crawford as he looks great.
I'm super-stoked that our whole team isn't together yet and it seems that Vinny Del Negro has the respect of this team and no one is questioning him. I'm liking the chemistry and love the beat-down we applied to Portland which is a hard place to play just like Utah, two teams that play really well at their house. The Warriors & Cavaliers losses also help the mental look of this team, as they showed to not let their eye off the ball. The Clips need to win every game possible, just give yourself a chance to win.

nobody is crowning.
title of thread/ thread was made in the preseason/ this is possible.
just possible....POSSIBLE...not going to happen...just POSSIBLE.
if not for anything else...for the fact that the story this would create montages on espn/ fox sports of the kid air balling free throws in years past/ stories about not scoring out of the paint....hell, if he gets big enough...how his stock fell in the 08 draft.
i'm not a negative nancy that believes i need to wait and see if the bad might come out of deandre....or if he has a rough night against chandler/dwight he's failed his test
he's locked in...he's working hard...it's only up from here...the question is how up...he's already better than he was last year...and that was before those last 2 games and I'm not even sure he made a free throw before those 2 games.

Re: Preliminary Discussions on DJ being the MIP
well I'll just say this.
deandre has much better physical tools than griffin. what griffin has is far better basketball IQ and confidence. once DJ catches up on a few mental things, the sky is the limit for this young fella.
