Biz did a good job of duplicating Haywood basically. He was decent, but nothing spectacular.

I'm sure that Gordon performance will make Henderson rush back from that 2-4 weeks. BTW it was a solid team performance except the fact that Mullens made Davis' night a easy one by giving him too many layups. I don't have nothing against Mullens but I'm growing tired of him being the reason why every team scores over 100 points on us. Sessions too. He let that Roberts guy get off early and it became hard to cool him down later.

You know who would be a beautiful, absolute perfect fit for this team?

Anthony Davis.

Im fine with Gilchrist. And Im probably the only one on the face of the earth that thinks he will be a better pro than Davis.

Said this all during the draft, and Im sticking by it.

Unless Davis puts serious time in the weightroom over the next 3 seasons, he will be good, but often injured, missing 15+ games a year. MKG has a freight train body that should last 12+ seasons

Some thoughts on the game:

Last night when I saw the the over/under for points by Ryan Anderson were 13.5, I instantly knew that Mully is going to get me that money. Three point shooters continuing to light us up.

Mullens and Tyrus Thomas were horrible. Mullly just looked completely lost out there, Tyrus had good first six minutes, but then his instincts took over and he just made bad play after bad play.

I loved Bismack out there, two good games in a row and this is something I think we all expect from him this season - a bit more consistency than last year.

We just can't get a stop on the defensive end and it drives me nuts. With less than six minutes left in the game, every time down the floor I was saying to myself - ok, now we have to get a stop this possession and try to get a bit closer. It just didn't happen. This team hasn't been capable of playing a good possession of defense when it needs one. Either we give up an open shot or we try too hard with our rotations which leaves nobody ready to block out and the opponents get an offensive rebound. Those three rebounds in a row they had under our basket with about two minutes left drove me nuts.

I liked the way our guards penetrated and attacked the basket, it does seem like that Mully's performance cost us a win. He should have had double digit points and that's basically the difference. If he's not scoring, he's useless, especially if Biz takes care of the rebounding department.

Was it me or did we play way less zone this time? They just destroyed us on the man to man defense anyway. We had huge trouble defending the pick-n-roll, Biz being the only big who did a decent job, however, he does seem to be a bit too aggressive on the trap/step-out, which leaves us in a bad situation, if the point guards gets past it.

I don't know what's worse about this team, having all these chucking guards and no real playmakers, Mullens being used as a 7ft 3pt shooter instead of of scoring big man who takes high percentage shots, or Tyrus' steady regression in the game.

Dunlap has to put Mullens in a scoring position near the post, the occasional 3 pt shot is one thing, but to have your 7ft player who maybe the most consistent shooter relegated to chucking 7 3's a game won't cut it and it will hurt your second chance abilities since he's drawn away from the rim. We have no inside presence if Mullens is shooting 3's, let BG be the perimeter shooter, Mullens can get easier shots inside, let Henderson (when he's healthy), Kemba, Tyrus nad even Mullens worry about the mid range shots, and MKG can slash, finish the break, or occasionally shoot the open jumper.

Just watched the replay of the game - sorry haven't read through the entire thread.

Observations:

No revelations here, but Tyrus is a lazy mess. Ryan Anderson owned him.

Diop is hot garbage. He literally looks like he lives in somebody else's body. Like a newborn foal. A complete non-entity. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but has no business on a basketball court.

Dunlap stuck with Tyrus and Diop far too long. Should have gone small ball - played JT at 3, MKG at 4. JT looked much more comfortable out there.

It's official. The Ben Gordon trade was a swindle of epic proportions.

MKG is going to be a player.

Hooray Biz.

I think Dunlap cost this game for us. His benching of Mully after that blown layup in the 1st quarter was really premature and put us on a schnide we couldn't get off of. You have to put with Mully if he's playing like a spaz b/c his rebounding and defense is needed. Relying on Diop to play long stretches against athletic bigs like Unibrow is not a recipe for success.
