Howard Says He and Kobe Need to Keep Calm

5 games in and Howard is already trying to tell Kobe how to behave in-game. I'm guess Kobe won't like this.

Nice spin... I guess you missed the 'we.'

Howard was displaying his irritation too and was basically saying he shouldn't have done that...

Easier said then done! You cant tell a player to bottle up their emotions especially when your frustrated. But I do agree Kobe and Dwight both gotta stop the whinning and not getting back on defense when they dont get calls.

I think Howard said 'we' so it wouldn't seem like he's taking a shot directly at Kobe. Kobe probably won't like this but he deserves it. His attitude throughout the whole game was awful. This is Kobe's main weakness as a leader. Sometimes guys need to be reprimanded and sometimes they need to be encouraged. Kobe does way too much of the former and not enough of the latter.

Dwight has only seen 4 games of Mike Brown, Kobe has been through this for an entire season already.

This is true. Kobe pouting all night, sitting slumped at the end of the bench with a scowl on his face, staring daggers at the coach, etc. is all stuff that can effect the rest of the team. The terrible body language starts with Kobe imo.

Man 17 years and Laker fans act like they dont know what kind of competitor Kobe is. There's more than 1 type of leader. I want the guy that leaves it on the court. While their is some merit to what Dwight is saying, my issue is more with the guy on the sidelines who is suppose to be not just our coach but our true leader. These players dont believe he will lead us to the ring. Crazy how Alex Kennedy NEVER BROKE any Laker stories prior to Dwight getting here then out of no where the Jerry Sloan story hits the net. Then on top of that "players in the locker room question if Brown is the guy to lead us to the ring" Man Dwight better watch this stuff. I prefer things and topics like this STAY in the lockerroom he could've easily pulled Kobe to the side and had this discussion before he went to the media with it smh!!!

I wish they would stop whining so much to the refs, makes us play 4 on 5 all the time on defense.

Kobe, Dwight, Gasol....I guess winning will cure everything. Just hope they start sooner than later.

Dude yall are taking what he said too seriously. He's just saying that he and Kobe should be the ones setting an example to the rest of the team. Since potato head can't lead, Dwight and Kobe have to set up the leadership role since we have complete idiots on the bench aside from Chuck Person.

As you'll see in the title and I said "Howard says HE and Kobe need to keep calm." But he is also telling Kobe to keep calm also and Kobe's too proud to be told how to behave on the court.

Tell Kobe to calm down? rofl. This is Kobe's team.. you're supposed to play by his rules. Kobe is the one with 5 championship rings, hes the one that is going to lead the team to a championship. Howard should just say yes Kobe is very upset with the team we have to step it up. NO MORE OF THIS "PROCESS" BS.

I personally think it looks cool. Kinda gives off a demon warrior type vibe like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

there's only 3 guys I know or saw that could tell Kobe anything on the court...fish Harper and shaw
How's this for an almost unbelievable Laker trivia: The Lakers will miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd time since 1976.
Just 3 times in almost 40 years!!!!

That ain't new. Horrible attitude when things aren't going his way. Last year around this time, he was sulking and sneering at the ball going thru Drew. He wound up off the team, too.

Howard endorses Phil and the Lakers hire Dan Tony.

I'm sure the FO talked with Kobe, Howard and Nash about hiring Dan Tony 8-)
