I'd take Perkins if they gave us the Toronto pick and one of Lamb/PJ3.

We are not going to trade Gortat hes a top 5 Center. We will pay him 10-11mil which he is worth. Perkins and PJ3 and a pick is terrible. Perkins isn't better then gortat at anything Offense,Rebs,Blocks mobility. PJ3 stop watching college highlights he is nothing special then a raptors first that is protected? Frye will be back next year so if anyone is more trade bait it would be a Scola ,Brown or Scola, Johnson package. As Brown and Wesley johnson contracts are friendly because they expire Brown has a team option. Guys who we aren't going to move are Dragic,M Beas, Gortat.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Lol

Luis Scola > Frye

Gortat is in his contract year no doubt he'll be busting hard to earn his first near MAX deal... Nothin less than 12-13 Million me thinks... It's his time to cash in.

YOU don't pay that much money on a team rebuilding and WITHOUT an All Star (Gortat ironically is so far playing like one).

When someone offers a top 10 pick and some young players I think Gortat would be traded.

Suns need a centre for the next decade not for the next 3-4 years and who is on near max who isn't a franchise player.

Suns, Kings and Pistons

Suns
IN: Evans + Thompson + Pistons 2013 top 5 protected
OUT: Gortat + Dudley

Why?
Need SG/SF in Evans, and picks to package up to top 5. (Shabazz, Noels) and get another top rookie in 2014.

Would love a 2014 core of Dragic, Shabazz, Evans and a stud PF/C.
If not Shabazz get Noels.
And aim for Jabari Parker or Wiggins in 2014.

Dragic, Wiggins, Evans, Noels 2014 core :)

Kings
IN: Gortat + Stuckey
OUT: Fredette + Evans + Thompson

Why?
Cousins + Gortat, with Stuckey as combo guard next to Isaiah.

Pistons
IN: Dudley + Fredette
OUT: Stuckey + 2013 top 5 protected

Why?
Gets a shooter/scorer at PG/SG/SF to spread out the defense for Monroe and Drummond.

Phoenix/Okc/Denver

Phoenix trades Marcin Gortat

OKC tradJeremy Lamb/Jones III/Dallas pick/bobcats 2nd/3 million/hasheem thabeet

Denver trades Mozgov
Gets bobcats 2n

Not a fan of none but thinks this is fair for all.
Phx gets a nice haul for Gortat
Okc gets a better c and keeps Perkins toughness
Denver gets something for a 3rd string c

Denver would be offended by that offer. It would be a nice haul for Gortat, and I dont think OKC or Denver would think his value is that high, even though he is playing at an extreemly high level right now.

It think it would be a huge mistake to trade theGORTAT unless some bonafide young big man was inked in to replace him. Should just extend Marcin before any hubbub is raised. He is proving himself to be a pretty good center....and you have to pay for those guys. He has another good 5+ yrs left in him. I'd like to see him play with Dragic for a few more.

If we are out of the playoffs race at the trade deadline I`d consider trading Gortat for similar package (where we get a couple of high potential guys like Lamb and PJIII) just because next year`s draft is stacked at C (Zeller, Adams, Noel, Len, Gobert, Austin).

The infatuation with rookie potential is no reason to deal a Center (theGORTAT) who appears to be coming into his own. It takes a couple yrs for most of these young centers to figure it out.

Nope, sorry.... I think theG should be part of the core, and if he continues to be a double-double-3-4 swat man, you lock him up. We have money to spend, and multiple draft picks (I think 3 in the second round) ... why get rid of talent you cant replace ? I wouldnt want to burn Dragic out with a bunch of youngsters for the duration of his deal. Thats wasting him when he should be priming up.

We all love Gortat Frank but he is at his ceiling and his trade value will only go down over time as he ages. He is the only piece we have that has REAL value so if we were to trade Gortat it better be a package deal netting us a proven young top tier player.

And please find a way to include Morris in the package I think we need to ship him out before people realize he isnt very smart.

I don't see us trading Gortat now that Harden is inked in Houston.

Especially in a deal that sends back multiple players. Next draft we have 3 first rounders (ours, one from Lakers, and likely one from Minnesota) and 2 second rounders (ours and Lakers). We wouldn't have room for even half of them if we take back multiple guys. Unless we move some of our picks for future picks or we try and package picks to move up in the draft (which almost never happens).

Gortat is just better than most of the guys that are rumored to be available (Tyreke Evans, Evan Turner, etc.)

Exactly. Don't trade him just to trade him; keep him unless you can use him to get a real young top tier talent that would make it worth it to us. But sadly it will take us a few years to rebuild and tinker to the point where we cna seriously contend again and at that point he would be over 30 and on the downside of his career (bigs dont last as long as little guys usually).

Gortat is playing great right now but he also did in stretches last year also and dont forget November is totally a creampuff schedule for us. Later in the season when we start playing good teams its going to look like we walked into a wood chipper. These are all factors that that it would be wise not to ignore when looking into the future.

This team isn't going anywhere and Gortat will be 30 when his contract is up. There is not a better time to trade him then between now and the deadline. I bet OKC regrets not trading with us because Gortat can help a contending team for 1-2 more years. Perkins is terrible...

PJ3 was the 2nd last pick of the 1st round. Thabeet is the 2nd biggest bust of the decade, Mozgov is good at nothing except getting dunked on by Blake Griffin and the Dallas pick is crap.

So your saying we should trade Gortat for Jeremy Lamb and bunch of crap?

Gortat's at his ceiling, blah blah blah...same was said last year, but it sure seems like he's upped his D to another level. He must be close to leading the league in blocks this year at 4+/ game? yep, clearly peaked.

The need to infuse talent at the SG is our most critical requirement - whether this is via trade or draft, it doesn't matter. We're loaded with picks and the draft is 8 months away so we'll have a crack at the former.

With Dragic locked up long term and Telair playing outstanding basketball, I feel like our PG spot will be fine for the immediate future - unless we start playing Goran at SG I can't see too much of an opportunity for Marshall to get development minutes outside of garbage time. He belongs on a team with an establishsed star PG where he can get 10-15 backup minutes every night.

TRADE 1:

Marshall, Morris, Wes Johnson (exp)
For
Marshon Brooks, Kris Humphries

Brooklyn are pretty stacked and have committed big dollars in doing so. Having said that, they have no clear long term solution at backup PG and their PF spot is their only real question mark. Here, they land a couple of young prospects that can be evaluated over the next few years while still on their rookie deals. Morris showed promise in his rookie year and Marshall, while talented, won't get much burn behind a healthy Dragic and impressive Telfair.

Dragic, Telfair, Garrett
Brooks, Brown
Beasley, Dudley, Tucker
Humphries, Scola
Gortat, O'Neal, Zeller

Suns get an intimidating physical presence who, while not overly gifted offensively, should be able to do the dirty work around the basket and take the rebounding pressure off Gortat. Brooks is a young talent who could turn out to be a handy utility on the wing.

OR TRADE 2:

Marshall, Morris
for
Evan Turner, Kwame Brown

As with Brooklyn, PHI have an established star PG with a stopgap backup in Royal Ivey. Their core of Holiday and Bynum is exceptional and here they pick up a couple of young pieces they can develop at positions of need (backup PG and PF) to complement their existing veteran role players (Rich, Wright, Young etc.) PHX eats Kwame's $3m x2 as extra incentive.

Holiday, Marshall, Ivey
Richardson, Young
Wright, Moultrie, Wilkins
Young, Morris
Bynum, Hawes, Allen

Turner is the most realistic option PHX has as a high reward type SG and his all around game would be a great fit on this team.

Dragic, Telfair, Garrett
Turner, Brown
Beasley, Dudley, Tucker
Scola, (Beasley), Zeller
Gortat, O'Neal, Brown

Utah is still looking for their PG of the future, and they have a clut of bigs.

Why not,

Kendall Marshall, Wes Johnson's expiring, and Minnesota's 1st

for Paul Millsap

Get Millsap and extend him immediately.
