Yeah, if that 26M figure is true (and it appears to be), my read on the situation was way off. Even being in the centre of the hype, I didn't think it would be that much.

I guess Darvish has shifted the market back up after Daisuke seemed to have killed it.

Good for him though, hope he does really well. I just hope Hanhwa doesn't spend the money wisely.

I'm surprised that someone would make a bid that large. He hasn't been hyped for years like Darvish, and the level of competition he's been facing is something like AA. It looks like a pretty big overpay.

Yeah, seems like an overpay, but it sounds like the LAD won the bidding and they have loads of $$ so not really a big deal to them.

Yup, looks like it's confirmed that the Dodgers won the bidding. I agree that it was an overpay but LA + Korean player = money for the Dodgers. Huge Korean population plus bringing back the good ol days of Park Chan Ho :D.
I read somewhere Boras is looking for a 5-6 year deal, and knowing the Dodgers he'll probably get it.

Huge overpay by the Dodgers, I guess they really wanted him.
