It doesn't matter, because even if he sucks, the Raps won't get rid of him like the Wolves did with Johnson, they'll keep touting how he's still developing and then reward him with a 40-50 million dollar contract.

Doubt it. My personal guess is BC is shopping Terrence Ross as we speak. Ross is not one of BC's boys, because he plays the same long term position as Demar, who has always been given the keys to the car as long term franchise SG. I'm almost positive the Raptors ending up with Ross was a disappointment to BC and the team on draft night and that it only happened because the players we really wanted were gone and because we couldn't trade the 2012 pick for Iguodala or Gay. BC even mentioned the idea of Ross being an "asset" recently as if an expendable trade chip. I'd be surprised at this point if Ross is a Raptor after the trade deadline. Everyone knows BC has one more panic/"Hey we got X!" trade to try and fix the mess he's created and Ross is the piece he'll float around to do it

If true, BC is absolutely an idiot. I don't see how Ross has a better trade value than the other players like Drummond or Lamb, who were still on the board.

I don't know if we drafted Ross as a trade asset. I think we believed on a team with Steve Nash, having a SG who could hit 3s would be important.

However at this point, now that he's proven he's a project instead of a win now player and Nash isn't here, I see him being shopped

Did he really think Terrence Ross would have any effect on where Nash signed?

Of course not. He is saying that BC thought Ross would be a good fit with Nash when he signed with us.

Hilarious, so now Ross is gonna be the project and Drummond the NBA ready guy? Damn Raps fans are so delusional.

 at me being delusional. Drummond is more of a project but he has the strength to play more minutes from the get go. Hes a beast physically, that was never doubted about him. Ross on the other hand is still too weak to play alot of minutes and be productive. Ross has an nba ready skills but hes not nba ready by any means, he can play 20-25 minutes a night. If he wants to take advantage of his skills he needs to add strength. Drummond doesnt have that problem at all, Drummonds problem is in his head and his motor

BTW i would of drafted Drummond over Ross, but i still like Ross

Wasn't Fields supposed to do that? Why would you DRAFT anyone because of their possible fit with a near 40 year old? I mean all of this screams incompetent.

I don't personally care. I was answering your question. I am not a Raptors fan and did not follow the situation close enough to comment.

I have a feeling BC might end up trading Ross and Bargnani for an upgrade at SF. Something needs to happen unless BC really thinks Derozan and Ross can play together on the wings and be successfull. If he doesnt think so then he needs to trade Ross or Derozan along with Bargnani.

Oh dear. So now we're going to have to debate what it means to be a project? If Drummond is the one ready to play more NBA minutes, then that makes Ross the project. So he'll be developing on the court, with playing time, and Ross will be in the weight room instead of actually playing NBA basketball. I sure as heck hope not for the Raps sake. Sad, sad stuff.

With that said, I have nothing against Ross. I just don't understand drafting an 'NBA ready' guy as he was touted, and then not playing him, especially when your team is garbage and he plays at your weakest position anyways.

Seems like Ross can't put the ball on the floor at all. It's like his ability to put the ball on the floor is on par with Drummond's jump shot. Both are non-existant.

Seems like a problem for a SG.

More so the problem that exists with Ross is that he can't use his momentum when dribbling the ball to explode forward to the basket. He's got the handles, but more of an east-west player setting up for the jumper.

Hold on Ross is averaging under 9 minutes a game. he's shown flashes of greatness but he isn't getting the minutes like barnes, beal, even drummond. look at jeremy lamb he's gonna rot in OKC unless he gets traded. Fields ruined everything taking away minutes from valuable players.

I really wonder how Terrence will end up in the future. Will he go the bonafide starter route, or become a super sixth man? Provided he pans out.

Why is he not good enough to get minutes over Fields or Henderson?

Because when he hits the court he makes bad rookie decisions and mistakes. That will pass. Sometimes a player needs to sit and watch for awhile to see how to play. Casey is an infamous bencher of players who don't follow his directions whether that is Demar, Amir, Bayless, JJ or even Bargnani. That's just how he likes to coach.

Look at a guy like Klay Thompson last season- did a whole lot of sitting and watching over the first half of last season, then they found him ready and gave him the green light, albeit during a tank run, and the rest is history. Now he's becoming a very good offensive player for them.

It's pretty obvious to me that Ross has a high skill level- certainly higher than Demar's of a couple of year ago. We're just waiting for Casey now.
