anyone else?

we need to keep a close eye on the NBDL bigs.

Kenyon Martin would be perfect, but I don't think he want any parts of the Bobcats organization. Ike Diogu might be worth a shot in the dark.

kenyon martin said the other day that he would play anywhere if called. he just wanted to play. not sure how serious he is. if the cats called and offered 1 year vet min, i cant see him accepting, but thats what he was saying.

he'd probably be a disaster here though. he would not be able to handle the losing.

diogu was going nuts this summer during olympic qualifying. what happened?

we really missed the boat when we didnt go after malcom thomas.

also, wouldnt mind othello hunter. i was pleasantly surprised with him in summer league. where did he go?

I just don't understand how Diogu doesn't have a team after the summer he had. I'd sign him in a heart beat. Meanwhile, Hamed Haddadi has started his fifth season in Memphis after a similar performance in the 2008 Olympics. Now, let's be honest, even though Haddadi is a serviceable 7-footer, Diogu is a way better player.

There is no single player in the upcoming draft that can save this team by himself. I would suggest finding better players when they are available, ideally someone who can help long term. Why? Too many holes to fill to hope the draft will be magical. Look at our recent picks. Kemba is not a franchise PG. He may find enough consistency to be a starter, but on a quality team he'd be a back-up. Biz will always be a role player, as he s just too small to play the 5, but he can't play 4, and he has no offensive capability. MKG is a fine complimentary guy, but his scoring will never be dependable (nor his jump shot). If we got the #1 pick in the next 3 drafts, we may become a serious playoff team, but we better get some help if the opportunity presents itself.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

This time last year Anthony Davis wasn't being touted as a franchise saver........a lot can happen in a year.

But I do get your point - next draft class does seem very weak at this stage.

nobody we pick up in free agency now is going to change the fact that we will finish in the bottom 3 this year. however, we shouldnt have to suffer through watching diop and tyrus play when we can find someone off the street to play better in the short term. a little competition for minutes never hurt anyone. plus it sends a message to the player and fans that if you arent getting it done we will find someone else.

we have two roster spots open, one player injured for a month and three players who would not make any other roster in the league. there is no reason other than cheapness for not adding two players to this roster.

:) :o :o :-? :-? THINK NBDL.....Not NBA LEFTOVERS.....Too bad we didn't sign DJ White...Also look at what Cunningham is doing for T Wolves? Should have kept him also instead of RWill.

I honestly think we should give the Timberwolves a call about Derrick Williams, he would be good in a lineup of Kemba, Henderson, Gilchrist, Williams, Haywood/Biz.

What do you think his value is?

Roy's knees are looking pretty shot. I would say Henderson would be pretty appealing for them.

I think they'd value Williams higher than what we'd be willing to give

I definitely wouldn't give up henderson but definitely a package of Carroll+Viking+Portland first might do it. A non lotto pick is worth the gamble imo, we considered the Portland pick as a necessity since we owed Chicago a pick but the Detroit pick is better than we could have hoped for imo.

Minnesota might bite considering they were trying to trade him for anything in the offseason.

Trade Gerald Henderson to Minnesota for Derrick Williams, maybe even include one of our picks if they ask. We're not signing Henderson to a lucrative deal come offseason and the T'Wolves need a SG with Brandon Roy knees ailing him again. Their season is playoffs or bust while our season is all about getting young assets. I would hate for us to lose Henderson for nothing as a restricted free agent.

2nd round pick, only because of the uncertainty of Hendo's restricted free agency. That may be the only way they'd bite. I just don't see pick that late in next year's draft being that important in the next phase of our rebuild.
