The Cousins thread.

Post#1 » by AnDrOiDKing4 » Sun Nov 11, 2012 7:50 pm

I am starting to get worried, no doubt he is going to be a good player in the NBA, but I just don't see it with this team or this coach. How much longer do we even have as a franchise for him to take this game to the start level that we have been waiting for ?

Cousins problem is his IQ. He still has bad shot selection and likes to force the issue.

He has to force the issue. This is one of the least talented teams in the L.

Number one is putting the right team around him. This is still all Geoff Petries mess. You can't go for talent in draft after draft and build a cohesive team, but he needs to get off his a$$ and turn back into the Petrie of old. I can see it now, Kings finish with the 7th pick in the draft, sign Tyreke to a max deal and bam, you're done. What's happening with TRob is exactly what I thought would happen, he's the new JJ Hickson for this team. Waste a full season like this and good luck being able to even add him in as incentive to a deal. It's just a good thing he's young enough and not established enough to handle it. Jimmer is another top pick just sitting on the bench for some games. Right after they finally just let Jimmer be Jimmer and be the pure shooter that he is. Brooks is a decent signing and you can tell with that end of the game lineup of Brooks and Thornton it helps Cousins because he finally has some space inside to drive or post.

I'm not worried about Cousins the talent at all, but I sure am worried about what Petries long term plan is, if there even is one of course. As for Smart, I don't know, I'm just not as bothered by him as much as I was last year. He's finally playing Hayes against the players he was brought in to defend. Sans Duncan of course, who didn't do much against him but decimated everyone else off the ball. He's also putting in shooters when needed. They ran some fairly effective pick and roll against the Spurs, but that still can't be the identity of this team nor did they really even finish a complete pnr but it led to a good look a few times. And of course that was the Spurs who have always let teams run pick and roll on them.

This is a huge year for this team, management, owners, in almost every way imaginable. By the deadline if things aren't up to snuff it's time to finally start putting some finishing touches on this thing. And really it isn't even that far off possibly. Whatever that involved it first and foremost needs to involve ways of making the game much, much easier for big Cuz.

Well speak of the devil, he was just suspended.

New York, Nov. 11, 2012 -- The Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended two games without pay for confronting Spurs announcer Sean Elliot in a hostile manner following San Antonio's 97-86 over Sacramento November 9 at Sleep Train Arena, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.

Cousins will serve his suspension tonight when the Kings play the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center and Tuesday against Portland at Sleep Train Arena.

We're gonna get dominated tonight with only JT and Hayes against Howard and Gasol.

Ouch. Maybe this is the kind of thing that will knock some sense into him. I can't believe that that was enough to get suspended tough.

This game could be real ugly minus T rob and Cousins.

I think that I'd start JT with Chuck and move Tyreke to the 3. Play JJ as a power forward off the bench as much as possible with one of Chuck or JT at center. Pray that Outlaw doesn't guard Gasol or Howard at all tonight.

Our rotation of big men will be:
Hayes/Outlaw
JT/James Johnson

Only way they can win this game is if they get out on a lot of fastbreaks.

What I said on the GB.

Not a Kings fan but I feel for you guys. This suspension is unjust, biased, and pretty much crazy.

I guess the league feels the Lakers need the help that bad.

I've been a Kings fan since day 1 and I love our team. With that said, Cousins needs to grow up. Going after a broadcast analyst because you didn't like what he had to say is ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is Cousins trying to talk trash to Tim Duncan. Have some respect, grow the f*@k up and learn how to play basketball. I'm tired of the excuses. You are a pro athlete making a lot of money. Respect the game and be a pro. I'm growing really impatient with this dude. And how does Jimmer not get more run on a team that can't hit the broad side of a barn?
