Would something like Brandon Bass & Jason Collins for Thomas and a 2nd round pick be a fair trade?

I would jump on a deal like that. It would have to be a 2014 or 15 2nd as we owe our current one to OKC.

It's always a little disconcerting when opposing fans are so eager to accept your trade proposal!

Your FO wouldn't make that deal. Tyrus contract is an albatross and Bass is at least a solid role player.

The thing with Thomas is he's only a season removed from being a pretty high-level role player. 10 and 5 with 2 blocks in 20mpg in 2010/2011 - that's more than Bass has ever done. And he's only 26.

After seeing Boris Diaw rebound from DNP - Fat Lard to the starter for a pretty good Spurs team, I wonder if a change of scenery would do wonders for TT.

Thomas would definitely be better with a change of scenery, but by how much, is my biggest question. If the Celtics would do this trade, then I'd jump all over it. We can't wait to get rid of Thomas and this kind of return is more than what I would dream for.

A fair trade may be Tyrus for Bass.

Tyrus would most likely turn into a beast immediately after arriving in massachusetts...knowing our luck.

The Celtics could definitely use his defensive skill-set - we don't have anyone rotation worthy other than KG who can protect the rim and cover ground defensively.

Any way you would do something based around Jared Sullinger for Tyrus and a 2nd?

How about something like:

Tyrus, Reggie Williams and a 2nd round pick
for
Jared Sullinger and Leandro Barbosa

Just from a fan of Ohio State basketball standpoint, I can quickly tell you that Sullinger is grossly overrated. He has a low sense of position near the basket, accompanied by limited post moves, and he's only 6'9". Granted that's not undersized, but he also takes a beating during the game, and his health could become a concern in the near future. That being said, I won't throw the 2nd round pick in there in exchange to pull Barbosa out of the deal, and then balance the remaining salaries.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

The C's have a hard cap that they're only $1 mil or so under after signing JET to the MLE, so that trade wouldn't work without the C's throwing in another big salary.

And Sullinger probably has a much higher price tag than that anyways - Doc Rivers is madly in love with him.

Wasn't Tyrus doing well under Larry Brown?

I think at this point Tyrus needs someone to push him that he can't ignore. Coaches you can ignore... someone like KG you can't... or even Kobe. I believe Tyrus has went for lack of a better word... numb to playing basketball. I fear how things happened in Chicago broke his spirit, went to the Bobcats, had Larry Brown working with him then Brown left and Tyrus just gave up trying. He's got the tools to dominate, he just doesn't have the motivation... He needs someone(a very respected teammate) to make him accountable for his play. I think he's a wildcard at best at this point coming off the bench.

I had no idea what Barbosa was being paid. I thought I saw $7mil? That was the only reason he was added - just to balance out salaries.

Basically the deal is based on Tyrus and a 2nd for Sullinger and what ever it takes to make the $$$$ work.

Sullinger would be great for us in our 2nd unit giving us much needed post scoring and Tyrus would be a nice compliment to Bass.

And I agree with KG being good for someone like Tyrus.

Mully and Haywood
Sullinger and Biz

Ya, I like that.

Drew Gooden has been inactive in Milwaukee and is owed 3years 19m whereas Tyrus' is 3years 24m(?)

Gooden's trade value is dirt cheap to the point Tyrus might have more (laughable?)

We may have to dump the Portland pick to trade him still though.

Charlotte trade:

Tyrus Thomas
Portland First
Higgins

Milwaukee trade:

Drew Gooden
Larry Sanders
Doron Lamb

Why?

It's like the double dump of contracts.

Tyrus would actually look good in Milwaukee imo, he can run the floor with Jennings and Ellis and would get minutes in their bigman rotation straight away.

I would prefer Henson or Udoh but I don't think they'll trade either of them but I'm sure they are dying to get rid of Gooden, Sanders is a throw in and has little value at this stage but would for us as a hustle big.

The first in a trade like this is a kicker as Tyrus and Gooden are relative in terms of value, Sanders has not justified his draft position at 15 but has been given little opportunity; Lamb as a second round pick would complete this trade in terms of value imo.

thoughts?

I only know this because Sanders is in my fantasy team, but he has been arguably their best big man this year.

He would definitely have value for them.

I hate using a first to get rid of TT. Just amnesty him when it becomes necessary.

Atlanta Hawk fan here, offer me that skinny piece of chucking sh*t for some of our meaningless piles of stinking catsh*t on our roster.

Are Kyle Korver and Anthony Tolliver piles of meaningless sticking cat sh*t? If so, good dealing!

By the way, not enough adjectives for Tyrus Thomas. You have to somehow work in the fact that a 68-year-old Paul Silas could've taken him in a fight.

I think the collective IQ of the world would drop if Tyrus and Josh Smith had to be near each other that much

Clearly you never watched Javale McGee, Nick Young, and Andray Blatche play together.
