2013 NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston (2/15-2/17)

Post#1 » by mkwest » Tue Nov 13, 2012 9:39 pm

Log on to NBA.com to vote.

Other ways to vote are to complete a ballot at a game, text player's last name to 69622 (MYNBA) or you can vote via Twitter and Facebook

Clippers represented

Guards - Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups
Frontcourt - Blake Griffin and Grant Hill

DeAndre was a casualty of the league taking away the Center position. Only 7 to 9 centers (depending on who you consider a center) were listed for the western conference.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know if there is a timetable for Grant Hill's return?

Billups hasn't played either and Crawford gets no love. I don't really think that it matters all that much (about 8 or 9 of the positions are already locked in), but why bother putting some guys on the ballot at all when there are obvious omissions?

No timetable. Billups will be back before him. Hill recently had an MRI which showed that things have not gotten worse, but it didn't exactly say that things have gotten much better either. We're good with who we have right now, but I would like to actually see Hill play for us.

I'm really surprised he wasn't put on there. Wasn't he on the ballot last year?
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Paul is in a little trouble. Approximately 55K votes separate him and Lin. Lin does have 3 factors working for him imo. Linsanity, his ancestral heritage and that he plays on the Rockets (i.e. Yao's former team). Thanks to Yao, his teammates received quite a bit of votes over the years as well. Harden has given NBA fans some excitement, but has also likely benefited from playing alongside one of the world's most popular players.

Other that, the only other tight race is between Garnett and Bosh, which is separated by about 7500. That one can really go either way before it's all said and done.

Lol at Hill. He hasn't played a single game yet he's on the ballot. This used to happen when stars were injured, iirc, amare, melo, mcgrady, etc. but those guys actually played during the season. Crawford must be thinking, wtf? Billups and Hill, but not me?

Adidas 2013 All-Star uniforms inspired by Houston's aeronautical history

Image

Adidas, the official oncourt apparel provider for the National Basketball Association (NBA), today unveiled the uniforms and apparel for the 62nd NBA All-Star Game on February 17, 2013 at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX .

Designed by adidas, the uniforms take inspiration from Houston's rich aeronautical history and the speed of the jet planes that dot its skies. The uniforms' eye-catching impact camo pattern evokes the world's fastest fleet of aircraft with the classic silhouette of a basketball net.

Players will take to the court in black-and-white aviator-style NBA All-Star warm-ups featuring metal zippers made with a similar anodized finish used on airplanes. Each player's jacket will be customized to represent individual career accomplishments such as NBA All-Star Game appearances and All-Star MVP awards, NBA titles, in addition to regular season awards and Scoring Championships

Replica 2013 NBA All-Star jerseys will be available at NBAStore.com with a full range of NBA All-Star apparel from adidas including men's and women's T-shirts, track jackets and headwear.
