Kenyon Martin

Post#1 » by Heatfansince04 » Wed Nov 14, 2012 6:18 am

kentuckysportsradio.com is reporting that the Heat are considering dropping Josh Harrellson and signing Kenyon Martin. What do you guys think about this? Me, personally, would welcome Kenyon Martin on the team. However, I would rather see us let go of Pittman and keep jorts. I see more potential in Jorts than I do Pittman. Even if you just let Jorts practice with the team this year, it will benefit him if we bring him back next year because if Martin leaves/retires, he will have a year of practice in our system under his belt. Pittman has had 2 years (going on 3) practicing in our system and it aint working.

There doesnt seem to be any upside with Pittman, that phase is over and done. If this K-mart thing really happens I'd hate to see Harrellson leave over a failed experiment in Pittman. Jorts has at least impressed me with the little he's been able to showcase more than Dexter has in 2 years.

Kenyon Martin is not a "Miami Heat" kinda guy. Not a guy Pat Riley will sign.

And you bet the house on that.

Release Pittman, not Harrelson.

Really have no clue why they keep Pittman, I'd take Martin over that waste of space anyday.

Let K. Martin be. If it's someone that should go it's Pittman. Harrelsson did everything better then K. Martin last season: Higher TS, RB%, Off and Def rtg.

Not really. K-Mart's strength never was in his rebounding. As defender he was very underrated (now he's old).
Could he help Heat? Yes. Would be better than Haslem? No. Do Heat have a need for PF? No. Can Kenyon play at center? No.

I still wonder why Heat didn't sign Birdman for vet minimum.

I feel the same exact way. The "Pittman experiment" has been a complete and utter failure. He's extremely slow on rotations, one of the lowest IQ players I've ever seen, extremely foul prone (what's the point of being an enforcer if you can't even stay on the court??), very little/no offensive game, below average rebounder for someone his size, and his conditioning is still poor despite the fact that he has lost so much weight.

The fact that this guy is still being worked on as if he'll somehow break through is baffling. I see no upside for keeping this guy, but at the same time I hope the Heat staff knows what they're doing and Dex eventually proves me wrong.

it's irrelevant whethere they release jors or pittman since none of them will play any significant minute. you're looking at a 4th string center behind bosh, haslem and martin.

i'm all for the move, martin could do well with the second unit.

2 TRG: Sorry but now you made me pretty angry...

Really? No, REALLY?
Look. I'm mostly Denver Nuggets fan. Try to watch Corey Brewer... Not only he runs like total **** but he never thinks when he plays. Of course he is fearless and energetic so he made two plays a game that make you look at him like on puppy- He's cute... And he tries to please us... I know he always **** on our carpet but he is member of family...
Plus they bring you "Shaqtin'a'mostly him" JaVale McGee. Every time he's not dunking you can't believe what the hell is he doing...
And your GM bring in Anthony Randolph. Thanks to Karl he won't let him play...

I can't say I saw Dex that much. But I can't imagine he could fight with all-dumb Nuggets front-court. :)

They **** my word for Brewer. He runs like a total "Kobe Bryant used that word last year on someone."

At least McGee and Brewer have some sort of game that they can bring to the table... Pittman is pretty much a guaranteed net negative every time he's on the court.

Your team overall is very exciting to watch though. Nuggets are a scary team when they're in sync.

Well, the report is refering to drop Harrelson. I don't like the idea but that's what happens when you just don't throw him out there on the court and see what he can do.

Don't speak too soon, man. Season series is not over, we'll be playing you on Thursday. The last game of a back to back for us. Gonna be a very tough game for us. The Nuggets are a really fun team, hoping for a close game (please don't blow us out  ).

Regarding KMart, same sentiment for me. Cut Pittman, Sign KMart, Give Jorts more playing time.

Yes. Nuggets are pretty awesome and fun to watch. Till first round :D :D But I don't mind. I'm used to it. We don't have shooters and if teams close the paint we don't know how to score.
