One thing that always made me jealous of NYY

Was how they always had bunch of switch hitters in their line up. It was huge at the end of games where it made it hard to match up with the bullpen arms.

Now we have three switch hitters of our own.

We have a relatively huge payroll now too. 120 million is really respectable

I never thought Robbers would do it. I'm proud of them!

Go after Swisher and you could have another one.

I think Swisher will be looking for too big a payday. Not that money is a huge issue, obviously, but that said I don't think the Jays are going to pile in with huge FA dollars. Trade? Sure. Maybe not so much FA though.

Switch hitters can get managed around because they often have one weak side. So it doesn't necessarily restrict moves.

But it's still an advantage -- especially in the AL where it is much easier to manage the bullpen in terms of matchups compared to the NL.

I'd love to add Swisher to this team. Any idea what kind of contract he'd be looking for on the market?

I know. Swisher is not worth 100 mill. Swisher is such a joke for actually thinking he could get that.

You really don't think he'll get $100M? Or do you not think he deserves $100M. Separate issues (kind of).

Should Brandon League have been called a joke when he said he wanted $30M over 4 years with the Dodgers? That's a far more ludicrous contract than $100M over 5 or 6 years for Swisher.

yeah, I meant deserves.

Yes, he should. And the dodgers are a bigger joke for giving him as much as he got.

I more or less disdain Swish, and can't believe he'd be worth anywhere close to that.

I think Swish will get at least 60 million, but not 100. IMO he's one of the good guys in the sport, he is much loved by his teammates and fans of his team as well as such a consistent performer. We would lucky to have him.
