Wow. Don't know how to feel about this. If he repeats his last year numbers, then watch out.

Either way, I'm glad AA is really addressing our issues and Rogers is opening up their pockets.

Great deal. Exactly what we needed. We have our left fielder boys.

Wow, great move in probably our biggest hole in the lineup moving forward. Is A.A done going after a pitcher via FA now and only relegated to the trade route? What an off-season this has been for the Jays.....

Wow, I guess our LF position has been taken care of. The jays are talking business this year. I kind of feel for Davis and Gose they were probably hoping for more playing time. Maybe Rajai is on his way out in a package with Lind to move some salary.

Pre-PED Melky (KC version) would still be acceptable based on the terms of this contract. He's 28 after all.

Jim Bowden:

Melky Cabrera gets 2yrs $16m from Toronto. Had he not tested postive for PED's he would have gotten 4 X $14m ($56m)...paid price approx $40m

Did the Jays also sign Marcum? I see some things on twitter, but nothing seems legit.

Get him back on the juice! Nice addition here. Really puts pressure on Gose and Rasmus, although he could easily slide to DH to let them both play. He's not a good outfielder, even using the low bar set by LF. I would not be averse to moving Bautista to 3B and Lawrie to 2B though. Not gonna happen but would be nice to get those bats in the lineup and leave Boneface and Maicer on the bench.

I'm really surprised. I love the move, but didn't think AA would go for him. I think the theme this off season with him is expect the unexpected.

Love this

in 2011 he posted a WAR of 4.2, worth about $19 million, and had similar stats this year before he got suspended.

Great deal for the Jays
