KOTB: LA/TOR/CHI/MEM
"If you believe all teams would accept this trade, vote yes. If you believe otherwise, vote no. Please explain your vote."
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ak5qprs
LA out: Gasol, Blake
LA in: Boozer, Calderon
Lakers do an albatross shuffle, Boozer will mix it up on the boards, run the pick & roll, and consistently hit that mid range shot. Lakers also get their unsung hero in Calderon, it's no secret he's a perfect fit for LA.
Raps out: Bargnani, Calderon
Raps in: Gay, Blake
Raps get their guy, need I say more?
Chi out: Boozer, Deng
Chi in: Gasol, Tony Allen
Trickiest part of trade, do the Bulls go through with it? With articles about Boozer being amnestied Gasol could be a great fit here. When Rose comes back he'll have a legit 7 footer he can throw the ball to and can clear the lanes for him. Also gives Tibs length in the paint for that gritty defense. Tony Allen would be fan and coaches favorite instantly, that system is perfect for him and the Bulls. He'd be their designated Wade/Johnson/Pierce/Melo stopper come playoff time.
MEM out: Rudy Gay, Tony Allen
MEM in: Deng, Bargnani
I really like this trade for Memphis, they replace Gay with Deng but also get a full proof 6th man in Bargnani. A few tweaks after this trade ( trading speights fior a wing or squeezing Ross out of Toronto) and this has playoff run for Memphis written all over it.

The Bulls say no IMHO. Gasol isn't enough of an upgrade over Boozer for them to give up Deng for Tony Allen.

KOTB Vote: No.
LAL certainly says no and quickly. The downgrade from Gasol to Boozer is a big one especially defensively which is important because their backcourt cant guard anyone. Calderon would be nice but not enough of an upgrade to swing this at all.
Raps would do this obv--thats a steal
I dont think Chi does this after extending Gibson. They cant have over $30m tied up in the PF slot.
Memphis doesnt do this either. They are 3 deep at PF right now and really thin in the backcourt.

Re: KOTB: LA/TOR/CHI/MEM
I vote yes, actually.
LA is the hardest to sell, but they save some quick money, get the perfect PG fit in Calderon, and Boozer on the P&R in a D'Antoni offense may be more valuable than Gasol's high post scoring/passing.
Tor is an easy yes, IMO.
CHI is also a hard sell, but I think they do it. They cut Boozer, and get Pau who fits in with their 2014 cap space plan (which is when they were going to amnesty Boozer anyways). Allen is a perfect Thibs guy, and the offensive upgrade from Boozer to Gasol cancels out the offensive downgrade from Deng to Allen, or it comes close anyways.
MEM gets a pretty nice replacement + a 6th man to keep a tall lineup.
Its not perfect, but I like it enough to say each team has a solid enough chance of saying yes, that I give it a yes.

No, variations of this trade have been offered before and the answer is still no. The Bulls aren't including Deng to get rid of Boozer.

no, lakers wont do that. boozer cannot shoot the 3 and is on a worse contract than gasol, and not as good defensivly.

I think that would be no from Lakers and no from grizzlies.
Lakers reasons were already stated, Calderon is not enough of an upgrade if you are downgrading from Gasol to Boozer, especially defensively.
Bargnani is going to ruin Memphis' chemistry in my opinion, Their whole team is grit and grind, tough defence, very physical. Extremely bad fit for a player like Bargnani

vote no: lakers would not consider trading gasol for boozer if all they get is blake for calderon as the sweetener.

Re: KOTB: LA/TOR/CHI/MEM
No: The Boozer to Gasol upgrade isn't proportionate to the Deng to Tony Allen downgrade.
