Would love to get Lamarcus Aldridge or J Smoove on the Suns
Would ditch Beasley / Duds / picks for either

We want a dynamic, star potential SG not an under achieving 50 cent look alike.
Suns have great opportunity to build around a young SG stud... Not a cap killer.
How is Stuckey a cap killer? His contract isn't even fully guaranteed next year and the proposed trade gets Beasley off the books so it actually increases cap space.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
With stuckey, suns still use up a chunk of space which can kill any chance of signing a star FA or 2.
Piston fans are not happy with him their team play look better without him.
He won't add wins to the Sund, I hate to say it but Shannon Brown when hot from the 3pt adds more to suns win chances.
Stuckey is not the answer.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
The SG I want the Suns pursuing.
- Marshon Brooks: still young, I can envision as a 20ppg Jamal Crawford type with room to grow still. Still young and on a rookie contract.
- Jeremy Lamb: won't get playing time on Thunder until maybe late next season, Suns wanted him last draft. Potential Rip Hamilton type SG, on rookie contract.
- NBA Draft 2013: Shabazz Muhammad, I have this gut feeling he will be the next Star SG; Jerry Stackhouse / James Harden level SG... Would be top 3 SG in the league soon after his arrival to the NBA.
- Afflalo, Stuckey, Mayo etc are not the "star" level SG Suns can build around.
SUNS have no ideal 1st option on the team... Why add another 3rd option type player?
This ain't the 2003 Pistons.... Where they had 4 all-stars, when their starting 5 were top 5 defenders in their position and Ben Wallace as DPOY and Rasheed/Tayshaun arguably top 3 in their position as defenders.

In what way does this move stop the Suns from having cap space? In order to have less space than what they are currently set to have Stuckey's contract needs to be guaranteed for more than 6mil and since the total amount due is 8.5mil that is extremely unlikely. Even then the Suns can use the stretch provision which would drop the cap hit lower than what Beasley would count. So the trade increases the amount of cap the Suns will have next offseason whatever way you choose to look at it.
What star FA do you even want from next years class? At best guys like Milsap and Smith make the Suns a bottom rung treadmill playoff team. I don't want the Suns to spend big on any of next years FA.
The Suns also look better without Beasley, so it's addition by subtraction for both team, only Stuckey has a better contract.

No one is saying to build around Stuckey, he is a stop gap with an essentially expiring contract. He also gives the Suns a more balanced line-up than what they currently have.

PF: Scola/Morris

I don't like it... Still a 30-35 win team but less cap space.

Who was talking about trading Dudley for Stuckey? I was going off nevestov's trade of Beasley + Johnson for Stuckey since that was the only one I saw.
Gortat
Scola
Dudley
Stuckey
Dragic
Still not a playoff team but it is more balanced and has better defense. It also increases cap flexibility, though there isn't anyone worth signing to big money next year so I hope they are conservative with how they use it.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
I would approach Utah with a Marshall/Dudley/Johnson for Millsap/Marvin Williams trade. They are going to need a PG after this season when MoWill leaves as a FA, and all they are left with is Tinsley.
Dragic/Telfair
Tucker/Brown
Beasley/Williams
Millsap/Scola/Morris
Gortat/Oneal/Zeller
Next years Jazz = Marshall/Hayward/Dudley/Favors/Kanter

And I made my own proposal which is more likely to be accepted by Pistons.
Either way as a Suns fan who wants the Suns back to title contendership I don't want Stuckey unless he is on a MLE type contract and he can come off the bench as a sixth man SG behind a star SG.

So you came up with a strawman argument instead of discussing what was actually proposed. If you don't think the Piston's would do the trade that's fine and if you don't want Stuckey that's fine too but it's difficult to have an honest discussion about it if you change the details without notice.
You've also never addressed how trading for Stuckey prevents the Suns from having cap space. At worst even in the Dudley trade they are left with roughly the same amount of cap space. As well as what free agents are available that the Suns could feasibly build a championship team around.

Lets discuss Beasley for Stuckey....
Suns still crap...
C: Gortat
PF: Scola
SF: Dudley
SG: Stuckey
PG: Dragic
You just moved the inefficiency from SF to SG...
Currently the Suns are SG away from a nice core going forward.. Beasley is a SF/PF... Would be handy off the bench.
Stuckey is no good.... Leave the hole at SG and fix it by going for a high reward player.
It's a side step at the very best case...
Stuckey is a Marcus Thornton type SG... Middle band quickness, middle band athletism, middle band shooting; pretty much mediocre at the moment... would be a good 6th man PG/SG on a good team but not on a rebuilding team...He is not a difference maker for the Suns...
And you accuse me of using straw man argument?? LMFAO... Craving for Stuckey is a straw man logic.
You just want to argue and debate for the hell of it when there is absolutely nothing to Debate... I'm glad Suns won't chase another 3rd option at best type of player Stuckey is.

Offensively, but defensively and overall the team is better imo though I guess you disagree. However at least the inefficient player is off the books sooner.

I defended the initial trade, then you change the details of the initial trade to suit your position. That fits the definition of straw man very nicely. As does claiming anyone is "craving" Stuckey when no such thing has taken place. I don't even like Stuckey, I just think the Suns would be better starting him instead of Beasley and I like the fact his contract is up a year earlier.

Actually no. I just pointed out your initial claims that adding Stuckey in any way hindered the Suns cap or pursuit of FA was factually incorrect. You're the one who continued the debate by changing the details to fit that position.

Sam Amico: Word around NBA is Jazz G Alec Burks is available. Burks, the 12th overall draft pick in 2011, has played in just 5 of Jazz's 10 games.
I'd love to get Alec Burks on this team. Young, athletic shooting guard on his rookie contract. I'd give up something like Johnson (or Telfair) + MEM 1st for him.

Nash was weighing offers from the Knicks and Toronto when the Lakers unexpectedly came calling at the 11th hour. “I always wanted to play for the Knicks in the Garden,” Nash said Friday during an interview at the Lakers’ training center. Although that possibility had been rumored for years, “this summer was very close,” said Nash, who is rehabbing a leg injury and will be re-examined next weekend. New York Times
Man, such a shame he hasn`t gone to the Knicks. I wanted Shumpert badly as a Sun those days. We could have Dragic/Shump as future backcourt. Ah well.

Yea, Suns should definitely get in on that. Marshall, Dudley, Picks, some combination of that.

If they will go for it. But we will have to wait until Johnson is available to add to a trade. Then I also don't think they will take on Johnson's $4 million tag, without us taking on some of their salary or give them a pick.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
I think that we can add Johnson in that trade since we traded for him when we were under the cap. Looking at the money, I'd take back Raja.
