Utah would be foolish to trade burks unless its in a package deal for a great pg.

I'll only be ok with trading Burks if they are packaging him with Jefferson for something better.

Interested fan from the Bulls board with a few questions:

1) How do Jazz fans feel about Burks?
2) Why hasn't he been playing, and how do you guys feel about that?
3) What's a trade some of you guys would be satisfied with with the Bulls?

I think he is a great player. In fact, he seemes last year at times better than Hayward.
We need badly a good pg, but I'm not sure how many great pg we can had with our cards. I rather have Burks than Foye, who is shooting great, but Burks is a great all around player.

I always felt he wasn't going to get much PT from the beginning, and now we Hayward who's improving, Foye playing well, and with Millsap and Marvin Williams at SF, he doesn't have much opportunity at SG or SF. He was a scorer in college and still has that mentality here in the NBA. We can always hold on to Burks and match w/e he gets, and it probably will be cheap, sooner or later he'll get some PT if he is meant to be very good.

1) Most Jazz fans are a fan of Burks, have seen what he can do with time and are ornery about this current situation. There are the inevitible detractors, but in this case they tend to be of the Jazz apologist variety. I couldn't tell you how pissed off I would be if we traded Burks, in lieu of playing Foye who is on a one year contract. I think a lot of us agree.

2) He hasn't been playing because our coach is a moron. He doesn't even need to play every game, for ****'s sake, but there's no excuse for why he hasn't gotten in some the games in which we've struggled, which sadly has been about half of our games so far. We're pissed. He has awesome potential... not all-star, but 16 ppg at the least. If we trade him he will end up shining somewhere else, I am sure of.

3) I don't know. The only thing we could remotely justifiably trade Burks for would be a young PG, PG-of-the-future so to speak. I don't know if Teague is talented enough to fit that bill. We're not going to demand the moon, obviously, and but I do believe Burks is better than Teague is... I have not seen him play. Would have to be a 3 team trade. Jefferson should be included in any deals we make, somehow, but obviously Bulls have no interest in him.

What would the Hawks be getting in return for Teague?

Bulls fan here....this bulls team has absolutely no interest....this speculation about Burks is all we have...I watched burks in college and think he is a good player he should be playing.

Well it was the Teague on the Bulls I was referring to, the young one they just drafted.

Burks played very well in the summer league. Then all of a sudden he was out of the rotation.

It's hard to tell why things like that happen as a fan, but judging by the only indicators we can see, it looks like a strange coaching move to sit him.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

same problem with kanter, they lack playing time, and confidence. Both have great upside, but remember that in this team even Deron Williams had to wait one year and a half.

Same foe Kanter and Carroll. Frustrating to say the least. Like many people have pointed out, if we are going to lose anyway, let's at least play the young guys. Even more frustrating is the fact that when we do play the young guys, we tend to play FAR better. Then we sub the vets back in and end up on the receiving end of a double-digit run.

i know, in the NBA could sound bizarre, but i'd start the guys that usually play off the bench in some away games: i mean, if u think you'll loose, at least give some minutes to the "others" and, maybe, send a message to the starters...

I know this sounds crazy but I actually think Burks should be starting with Marvin. Burks is the only guy who can create his own shot at a high level and get to the line. If he misses on a driving lay-up we have the bigs to clean that up. A majority of the time that Burks drives he gets fouled, scores, or we get an offensive put back. It is one of the highest percentage plays in the Jazz system.

That said, Hayward looks great as a Manu type bench guy. Let Hayward and Foye come off the bench and anchor the second unit with great wing play.

Williams
Burks
Williams
Sap
Jefferson

then swap Hayward for Williams
Foye for Burks
Jefferson for Favors
Sap for Kanter

I read a comment a few days ago on a DeseretNews article regarding the lack of playing time by Burks. The commentator indicated that his roommate works for the Jazz organization and has seen practices (I know, great and reliable source) and that Burks can't hit mid-range to long shots to save his life and that is why he is not getting playing time.

While this could be true, no one seems to mention that Hayward can't find the basket, other than on hustle layups, to save his life most games this year.

Is it a case that the Jazz have already penciled in Hayward and Foye as the SGs for now and the future and are looking to dump Burks? Considering that Hayward lacks a shooters touch and has difficulty keeping up with the speedy SGs and Foye is on a one year deal, I wouldn't think that this is a particularly good move.

Hayward has a true-shooting percentage of .550 right now in 334 minutes, second on the team only to DeMarre Carroll, who has only played 86 minutes.

Trade ... wait what i'm saying throw away Corbin, as coach he is piece of garbage and should be treated like one. I completely dont get situation with Burks why they dont send him to d league, if they dont want to play him, he is wasting his time siting on bench
