we are 9th in ASSISTS PER GAME and 28th in REBOUNDS PER GAME

Post#1 » by pistontr » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:27 am

that's mean frank does good job on offensive end. we have not a superstar or a go to guy type player so we need to share the ball. and we are good at sharing ball. we should give credit frank

defensively this roster can not be succesful, we can not reboun the ball. prince is very bad rebounder, maxiell and jerebko are not good. even monroe and drummond have issue about defensive rebounding. but these two guy our future so we need a good rebouner SF or guard to compete.

what do you think?

We are terrible rebounding team

. Monroe hasn't been rebounding well this season, he should easily be getting 10 boards a game. Maxiel/Jerebko are terrible rebounding "bigs" . And, Drummond doesn't get enough time. I agree that if we don't rebound the ball we dont put ourselves in position to win.

Giving Drummond, Jerebko's minutes at PF, would go a long way into helping us on the glass. I want to trade Jonas, he's outlasted his usefullness to the team.

I guarantee if Drummond got more mins and Kratsov actually played we'd be much better at rebounding

Seems logical....

But then again, why we're giving ANY minutes to guys who are not in our long-term plans completely befuddles me.

our offense is looking better and better. Between Singlers solid play and Stuckey and Moose getting back to form, we look of on that end. I think frank needs to make some changes to the second unit because maggette and bynum shouldn't be playing next to stuckey. We'll see how that turns out.

Defensively we look bad. And our defensive rebounding is a result of bad defense.
none of our bigs are all that good defensively at the moment.
Monroe is getting better, but hardly great. Drummond is still getting used to the system. he looks good sometimes but looks lost too. maxiell has his limitations. and Jonas shouldn't be defending PF's unless they are stretch 4s.
until drummond develops we will suck defensively.

I think it's myopic to look at our assist numbers and just assume the coaching staff is running a good offense. We could be doing nothing but drive and kick, which is conducive to a high amount of assists, but still not an effective offense overall.

I'm right there with you Pete. This completely confuses me. I don't see why Monroe and Drummond don't see the floor together. I'm crazy when I say this but if they can't play together I think we need to move one.

Couldn't have said this any better myself!!! My only thought is that Gores & Dumars are showcasing our outcasts to try to improve value for a trading deadline trade!!

Knight & Max in particular look more lost on a daily basis than Drummond does, yet they both get the playing time!!

That means Frank is working on it. That's very good because that's what they're focusing on. Sure we flipped around but now they just have to it it together. I feel like this team is learning by each game. I think they're picking up their roles and assignments. We need an ignition. A trade is ideal. Otherwise they'll keep growing slowly or they'll stunt their growth.

Its kind of crazy we are so low in rebounding, yet have the #1 offensive rebounder in the league, who is also 7th I think in total reb %.

The good news is we don't have to worry about a solution to the rebounding problem, because its as simple as just playing Drummond more.

Also, Knight deserves some credit for us being 9th in Assists. I think team assists are a more important stat for a PG than individual assists. Because its more of a sign of success running the offense, as opposed to just playing like Iverson, dribbling around and racking up assists off your own plays. Though I think Monroe deserves just as much credit too. When you have a Center avg 3-4 assists its going to inflate your team assists

we are 25th in Assists now. and yes Knight 'deserves' some credit for it.
