Question about stashing

Post#1 » by Sentry » Mon Nov 19, 2012 6:39 am

Im in a 16 team head to head league. The waiver wire is fairly spotty right now. A few guys like Ricky Rubio, Amare Stoudemire and Eric Gordon have all been cut. How early is too early to start stashing some of those guys? I know Rubio participated lightly in practice today.

Thanks for the help!

Yea sir. Three bench spots. I've got Drummond or Schved who I could probably let go without losing much production. Thanks for the quick response.

Posting from my phone so hopefully it doesn't format this weird.

PG - Chris Paul
SG - Alexey Schved
S--- Jeremy Lin
SF - Rudy Gay
PF - Zach Randolph
F--- David West
C--- Greg Monroe
C--- Nikola Pekovic
UT - Larry Sanders
UT - Aminu
BN - Ilyasova
BN - Beasley
BN - Drummond

16 team head to head. Standard 9 cat. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'm getting beat pretty soundly to start the season. Thanks guys.

I'd pick up Rubio now just to stash...then when it gets closer to Amare's return (what did they say? 6-8 weeks?) drop Drummond for Amare.

Amare's timetable puts him back mid-late December although with his history, I doubt he'll hit the court before January. Plus, with the Knicks playing as well as they are, they don't need to rush him back. Who would you suggest dropping to stash Rubio? I'm routinely getting beat in FG%, FT%, 3s, BLKs and TOs.

I would look to trade for a guard

Who else in on waivers?

Not a whole lot... Bradley Beal, E'Twan Moore, Eric Bledsoe are probably the best guards left on the wire. Who would you consider as good "buy low" candidates right now at the guard spot? I just picked up Lin for DeRozan yesterday.

In a normal situation, I wouldn't mind dropping Sved for Rubio... but it looks like he's your ONLY SG...

I'll see what I can do on the trade front to bring in another guard.

Do you put in your lineup daily or once a week?

I imagine its daily; if it is you really can't afford to stash players because you take so many zeroes, especially with only 3 bench spots.

If its weekly it might be worth a shot to grab someone. But Rubio isn't going to help you in any of those cats you are losing in. I would probably give Gordon a shot 1st. He'll probably get reinjured pretty quickly but he will help you with FT%, 3s.

I really don't know why you are getting pummelled in TOs; your trade for Lin is NOT going to help with that.

The league is set to where you can switch daily. I just played the three strongest teams in the league and have six of the right weakest coming up. Most of them are stashing an injured player as it is so I don't think I'll be at too much of a disadvantage.
