Pack/Giants Lead Up
Giants have been horrible and are coming off a bye.
Giants favored by 2.5-3 depending on the book.
Hope to see Matthews practicing Wednesday. Jennings may also practive this week but I doubt he plays.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think we are going to lose this game, especially with them coming off of the bye. Right now I'm just hoping Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy and that we see some improvement out of our offensive line.

Re: Pack/Giants Lead Up
Of the next four, this is the game I care about winning the least. Obviously, I want to win, but moreso I just want to get out of the game healthy. I like how we matchup with all the division opponents.
The Packers D is stepping up:
-10th in points allowed
-16th in yards allowed
-4th in defensive passer rating
-1st in sacks
-5th in sacks percentage
-7th in yards per pass attempt
-T-13th in yards per rush attempt
-11th in overall yards per play

Re: Pack/Giants Lead Up
At this point I'd like to see a few downs with Lang back at LG an Barclay at RT with either TE Crabtree next to him to help OR Kuhn focused on helping there. Lang is better utilized at G than T. We'd be better inside as Lang > EDS straight up and also in making Saturday more effective. We'd be strong at 4 positions and maybe OK at RT? IF Barclay fails -activate Datko from PS and try him. We may need a OT to step up so let's play them a little now and see what we've got. Heck they may even excel. This is not a knock on EDS rather an effort to maximize Lang's effectiveness and explore young OTs. Remember I said a few plays.

It's too bad Perry went down for the year. It would have been awesome to have Clay on one side and then rotate Walden, Moses, and Perry all game long to keep them fresh and active.

After what's happened the last 2 seasons I don't even care about home field or playoff byes, just get in and win.

Re: Pack/Giants Lead Up
Eli has looked horrible over the past few games and hopefully this is not where he decides to bounce back.
If the Pack can create a strong pass rush and rattle Eli early, he will still make stupid mistakes. Our secondary has shown the ability to tighten up and that will be a must after what happened in the playoffs last season.
Finley needs to have another 4-8 catch game where he loosens up the defense and allows for the deep out ball with Jennings (if he plays), Nelson, and Cobb. Starks' ability to create a running game and keep that nasty Giants D at bay will also be a factor once again.
Should be a slug fest, I expect a close game with Green Bay taking the win, 31-28.

Re: Pack/Giants Lead Up
According to pro football focus EDS was the worst guard in the league against Detroit...
Ironically the vastly over-rated Eric Walden had the worst day of outside LB's in a 3-4 defense....
Guards: Evan Dietrich-Smith, GB (-4.2) and Ben Jones, HST (-3.7)
If this game is anything to go by, the impact of losing Bryan Bulaga could be more significant than first thought. ‘EDS’ was thoroughly abused. Jones might not keep his starting spot from Antoine Caldwell for much longer if he continues to struggle as he did against the Jags.
Ironically the vastly over-rated Eric Walden had the worst day of outside LB's in a 3-4 defense....
Outside Linebackers: Erik Walden, GB (-5.0) and Calvin Pace, NYJ (-2.5)
Walden had two sacks, but both were when the quarterback was flushed to him, and he did nothing else all game except get flagged for two penalties. Pace should have had a field day going against Barry Richardson, but just two pressures is indicative of the type of pass rusher he has become.

Re: Pack/Giants Lead Up
I think we lose but I don't really care. I know a lot of guys on the team have a chip on their shoulder over being beaten like rag dolls in the playoffs in January against this squad.
The Giants front 4 is still very good. Their secondary can be exploited still and Rodgers should have a good day if he has the timing with the WRs and a little time to throw. I'm assuming the Giants defense steps up from their lackluster performances of the past few weeks.
Their offense has been struggling in the running game and Eli has been throwing picks again. But if they get down, they can still come back, that's been routine.
I think we need to run the ball at them... teams like Cowboys and Redskins just ate them up on the ground earlier this year.

I expect a loss, but I think it will be close. Eli will probably give us a few turnover opportunities early. I think the game will be determined by whether or not we can cash in on those or not.

Keep patting yourself on the back, man. Nobody is arguing that EDS is any sort of solution nor are they extremely excited about Walden.

Has anyone said they prefer either of these two players starting? Most, if not all people have Walden ranked as our #4 OLB and EDS as nothing more than a solid backup G (which really doesn't change after one game regardless of how bad he looked).

So heaven forbid Lang goes down in the game...what do we do? Who goes out to tackle then?
I'm assuming Datko comes up from the PS eventually but what is our backup plan if one of those things happens?

The Don Barclay era begins, he is the next man up......if a guard or center goes down Lang moves back in and Barclay plays tackle.
