PG: Bears leave hearts, other vital organs in San Fran

Post#1 » by emperorjones » Tue Nov 20, 2012 4:33 am

Embarrassing loss. Low point was the safety in the end zone on a max protect when the 49ers rush 3. All 3 linemen get to the QB

Mike Martz is laughing his ass off tonight.

Carimi flat out sucks. The defense played awful tonight but Carimi is not a starting NFL tackle.

I'll take him over Carimi every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Chris Williams V2/another Jerry bust. Next step, guard, cut in year 4.

Webb played allright as a rookie RT. I think that is his future position if not the Arena league. James Brown should get a chance next year to take one of these bozos down. They both need replacing.

*Breaking news just in*
Jay Cutler has been nominated and beatified for Sainthood. After the Bears/'49ers game, the Holy Office in Rome has noticed that Cutler hasn't killed or seriously hurt one of his linemen yet, an act of ommision of which has been officially recognized as a miracle.

Pretty much. As a guy who defends Cutler even as I admit he's flawed, I think it's worth pointing out how our offense looks when he's not in. Our offense isn't good with Cutler. In fact, it's bad. But without Cutler, our offense is beyond bad. It's beyond worst in the league; it barely qualifies as an offense at all. It's a testament to Cutler's skill that he even makes this offense look merely bad. We still have barely any idea of how good Cutler is, because no man on earth could get consistently good results with this offense.

I don't know what it is about San Fran, but the Bears wet themselves every time they play a game there. Carimi is a damn turn-style, he did not belong on the field. How does a guy get blown off the line of scrimmage and thrown into his own guys in the backfield SO OFTEN? Get him the hell off my football team. Campbell is not as bad as this line made him look. I'm not sure what's worse, their lack of skill, or lack of HEART. We're one and done in the playoffs, and we only make it because of our defense. If we're not careful, the Seahawks will be in the post season instead, while we watch at home.

Note to Phil Emery: Use every draft pick we have on the O-Line. The only other consideration should be if we can get somebody to replace our aging defensive stars. Trade Hester for more picks cause you can never have too many when they're this bad.

Boys, I think we just failed our Litmus test two weeks in a row.

The one who won last night is CUTLER.

Is amazing how he adapted his game to play with that **** infront of him. He is the most important player in this team and i can believe he has this record.

And now, all the crew of ESPN is jumping on Jay Cutler's bandwagon after ripping him week after week. **** media.

I never want to see Devin Hester take an offensive snap ever again. Where the hell did he get that fall forward with no contact *bleep* from???

Hey guys. Pretty bad showing last night. I pin this loss on our coaching staff for not scouting the 49ers offense & on our own putrid offense. Listening to Gruden last night, the 49ers unveiled a ton of brand new plays last night. That being said, we had no idea if they were passing or running. Our pass rush was stymied because of that.

Now that I've given my opinion on the defensive effort, let's turn to the offensive side of the ball. Before this season, most of us said that a successful season depended on our O-Line. Most of this board was nervous about the line going into this season, so basically our fears are becoming reality. I held out hope that they would gel by mid-season, but it seems like they're going backwards.

I also believe that Jason Campbell has no clue how to run our offense. He's much too hesitant to throw the ball when he drops back, which is a separate issue from our porous line. The combination of these two things killed our offense last night. I just hope that this board now realizes how good of a QB that Cutler is after watching last night's loss. Jay Cutler has played behind this line or a variation of it since he became a Bear. It is absolutely criminal that the old & new FO didn't address this horrid O-Line.

With all that being said, I COMPLETELY disagree with those that are saying we're not playoff bound. We are still tied for the lead in our division with a legit shot to make noise in the playoffs....just like any other team that gets in the playoffs. I predicted in Emp's "Annual Prediction" thread that we would end the season at 11-5. We are still on target for that record, if not better. So far, the only two games this season that I've predicted wrong were the Dallas & Detroit games where I had us down for a losses, but we actually won them both.

^^^^ tie goes to Green Bay right now. Bears are not in first place.

Lets be honest. The Bears aren't going to beat GB and they won't have a better record going forward. They are simply a better team. The Bears are fighting for a wild card at best. And anyway this offense is not capable of winning 2 -3 playoffs games. Or probably not even 1.

When the Bears have played good teams they not only lost, they looked awfully inferior. The Bears are who we know they are. Not that good. As the e-mail says. Cutler only makes the offense less bad.

I've posted this before, but I'll keep on posting it until it happens.

The Bears should draft an offensive lineman with all of our draft picks(I'm not exaggerating. When I say all, I mean all.) Then we should pursue offensive linemen in free agency, and be willing to overspend on them. Then we should make trades for offensive linemen. Is there a team out there with good offensive linemen on their bench that we could trade our defensive linemen on our bench for?

It makes no sense to get a pro-bowl QB, a pro-bowl WR, and a pro-bowl RB when they get 0 blocking when facing teams with good d-lines. Yeah, the defense wasn't great last night, but you can't expect the defense to win you every game.

We may beat Green Bay, and we may win the division, but this team is not winning the Superbowl.

I admit that our offense is looking bad this season, but it was looking even worse when Rex led it to a Superbowl game against the Colts. Yes, our O-Line sucks, but Campbell looked clueless back there for the second week in a row.

Regarding the underlined, I admitted that we were destroyed last night & altough Green Bay defeated us, I wouldn't call that loss a blowout. Just last week, we lost 13-6 to the mighty Texans after losing Cutler at halftime.

That being said, I agree that it's now an uphill battle, but we are not the only team struggling this season. Every team that's considered a contender has been blown out in a game and/or had close wins this season. The Packers were taken to the final minute against the Lions Sunday just like we were a few weeks ago. The Texans needed overtime to beat a Jaguar team that we destroyed a few weeks ago.

After watching this game I just hope we sign a big name offensive lineman like Ryan Clady or Jake Long in free agency after this season. And we will need to get one in the draft (at least one).

And our tight ends are non-existent in the passing game. We will need to get one or Rodriguez will have to step up.

Hopefully we can figure out a way to get the ball out of the QB's hands faster. Hester shouldn't be taking snaps away from Bennett and Jeffery on offense.

Please let Jay be healthy for next week. Please.

There's no way either of those teams let those guys go. It's nearly impossible to find bookend LT's in free agency as team's flat out don't let them leave. You have to draft one of these type of guys and unfortuantely, Jerry drafted two busts in Chris Williams and Gabe Carimi which has set us back quite a bit. I hope a solid LT falls to us in round 1 this year but there's only a few top level guys this year and I doubt they fall and we'll end up going defense :(

The thing that is so frustrating to me is that Colin Kaepernik stepped right into the 49ers' complex offense and they didn't miss a beat. The Bears put in their veteran highly paid backup and he looks completely lost. I realize that the Bears have personnel issues, but this is a huge black mark for the coaching staff.
