Yeah, Bundesliga and Premier League are mostly at the same time(even though some EPL games are starting at noon Saturdays CET.

Anyways, if you're able to catch a Gladbach game you should, as Arango's just a joy to watch. ;)

BTW: Do you play some Fifa? And if so, on which console?

i'll definitely check them out.

i have fifa 2010 on xbox and i am terrible at it, even after years of playing. i was thinking about getting 2013 if the reviews were good or perhaps switching to pro evolution.

I can recommand you Fifa 13.
It's really good and that first touch control is helping it a bit to not be as stale in gameplay as most Fifa games had been before.
And I've got it as well(2K13 too) on Xbox360.
Maybe we can battle each other some day online, making it a battle of bad vs even worse or so...

BTW: PES is good as well but editing isn't that great on Xbox360 and there's only one real good patch made by Daymos.

the two things i found difficult on fifa was
1) controlling your dribble vs the CPU. it seems like at soon as the ball was at my feet the CPU was on top of me poking the ball away. made for a bunch of ping pong passing rather than any dribbling.

2) damn near impossible to shoot with any power and still keep the shot down.

i spent most of my time playing the my player and gunning for various my player achievements.

you should check out our NBA2K13 thread. lots of great stories about our gameplay.

1) Controlling the dribble is pretty nicely done.
You always have to use(press) left trigger to keep passes under control. That helps you also with doing all those tricks, as you have to hold it and use the right stick to make those.
Though, I hardly do any tricks with that combination as I'm now using LT + RT and the left stick or LB + RB and the left stick(you can juggle them a bit and get yourself some freekicks or dribble around the opponents) to get by the CPU.

I also know what you're talking about, as it seemed like you're always battling the CPU with hardly any freedom while trying to control the ball.
Thanks to tactical defending the CPU know does not just run at you all the time and you're able to control the ball and try to build up the offense really nicely.

2) For shooting you have to hold the LT button and then press shooting, which allows you to control the shot better and shoot it pretty hard.
You could also do a "knuckle shot" from far outside the box if you're holding LT, then press the shot button and press it again, as the player hits the ball with his foot.
Though, you can also press RB which allows you to shoot it with more precision and less power.

I, for myself, find shooting and the ball physics for shooting, way better in Fifa compared to PES.
Though, tactically PES rules, as you're able to just drop down the players and the positions you want(it's like a chartboard where you klick the positions and draw them wherever you want them) while Fifa is pretty strict on formations.

BTW:
Here's a nice goal I scored with Lampard.

Another one with Torres

And of course a great WTF moment playing against Newcastle

Yeah, I had been lurking but I'm pretty bad at 2K right now.
I really like calling plays(at least 80% of the time) but I'm not really good at it since they changed playcalling last year.
Before that you had those nice arrows showing you what to do and now I'm a bit lost without playcalling for dummies helping me out.

the fifa13 you describe sounds pretty good. i will probably grab it once i get bored with 2k13. i am dying to playing with the band of 3 - mata, oscar and hazard. marin was on the bench for the first time all year sunday. i am interested to see how he does playing in that three. and dont forget victor moses. where the hell are they going to put de brunye when he comes back from loan next year?

Yeah, they're fun to watch(finally a younger, more energetic team by Chelsea) and fun to play as well.

I think De Bruyne will either be a rotation player next year, get loaned somewhere else again or he'll be sold.

Marin on the other hand I just can't see staying there because I don't think he'll ever have a chance outside of those crazy 5 games 13 days stretch around Christmas and New Year.
I think he'll be playing at Spurs(they wanted him as well this summer), Liverpool, somewhere in Italy(fits his style better) or go back to Germany.

on one chelsea blog i follow there was some talk/hope that perhaps de brunye would eventually be able to play in lampards spot in the double pivot. they cited some examples recently where he had been playing deeper for both werder and belgium. we are painfully thin in the double pivot having only mikel, lampard, ramires and romeu to rotate between two spots. lampard's time is coming to an end soon so we may only have 3 for that spot in the near future. we get essien back next year, but no telling what the plans are for him going forward. we also could bring josh mceachran into the senior squad, but not sure he is ready. also some thought that perhaps oscar once he gets stronger might fill that lampard role and play deeper.

If you want another guy for the double pivot you should act quickly and outbid(salary) Arsenal for the services of Schalkes Lewis Holtby.
He's a very good central midfielder who can play this position, or even more offensively, and could be had on a "free" transfer as his contract will be up next summer.

Holtby isn't really physical, but he's able to hold his own, pretty fast, able to play some nice passes and a technically sound player in midfield.

Though, some sites are already reporting that he's close to signing with Arsenal.

De Bruyne has played some games at that position for Bremen but they're playing extremly offensive minded, which means he's playing more like #8 then a #6.

Some news:

Next summer the german national team will visit the US and play two games.
The trip starts on May 22nd or 23rd and they'll play a friendly on May 29th against an opponent TBD in either Miami, New York or Boston.

On June 2nd there'll be a friendly between the US and Germany in Washington, D.C.

Though, don't expect all the top players to join Germany as the CL Final will be held on May 25th and the German Cup Final on June 1st.

Chelsea just parted ways with Roberto Di Mateo.

Well, it seems to me like you guy Abramovic never learns as you can't build a stable club while changing managers like you normally change underwear.

The rumors have it that Rafael Benitez shall take over until Pep Guardiola's ready to manage a team again.

BTW: You badly need a striker. Torres is done at Stamford Bridge and some say he'll either go to Liverpool this winter or he'll be in included in a Falcao signing.

ive just spent the last 3 hours reading chelsea blogs about the rafa hire. its just utterly ridiculous at this point, but not unexpected. until he has pep signed, no manager will be safe.

sad thing about rafa's hiring, it means at least another 6 months of watching torres flounder. how much more can be done to satisfy a misfiring striker? we changed the system, changed the shape, changed 3 managers, pushed drogba out the door and signed 4 creative midfielders in the summer... and torres STILL is invisible. now we bring in his old coach to see if he can get torres going. just sell the guy for a massive loss and move on.

this is a good article on some of the tactical problems that led to RDMs downfall

@fats:
Ready for a battle at the last 32 of Europa League? :starwars :P

Borussia Mönchengladbach won an ugly one 2:0 against Limassol and thanks to Marseille losing to Fenerbahce at home, we're now in that knockout stage, finishing at 2nd place in our group.

haha... yeah, i guess i better get ready for thursday games. :( i guess the silver lining... we can focus more on the premier league and get a few younger guys some more experience. then again, im sure rafa will be trying to win as many trophies as possible to keep his job, so he'll probably field our strongest lineups on thursdays as well.

Well, as long as he starts Torres, one goal could be all the other team needs to knock you out of that competition...

bump ...

I can't see Man Utd losing the title this year. City have been quite average this season

Surely by now Rafa would have realised that Mata is clearly Chelsea's most important player. To rest both him and Hazard at the same time was asking for trouble, he should also play Ba in place of Torres now that he is expected to come in, he is lethal in front of goal.

Glad to see Liverpool scoring goals and getting results, they are still quite inconsistent though. Suarez has been excellent this season

COYS!!!!!

Spurs are third ;)

Yeah Probst, noone is catching MANU imo though they looked commanding up until 30 games last season!!

I'm happy for Rodgers, his team always play a positive game and move the ball about, he likes his full backs playing on the ball and he doesn't mind his CB's playing on the ball a bit either which is very entertaining but led to a slow start for a team used to a more constructed Hodgson/Dalglish approach.

Word is that Daniel Sturridge is going to go their for 12m pounds and I think they might get Tom Ince aswell from Blackpool for about 6m, he is a former youth player for them and the son of Paul Ince, deadset gem of a prospect too, look for them to get in the running for Zaha aswell but he may cost 12m+ pounds.

Rodgers wants a small squad but I think he needs a few new faces and he wants young, technical brits which seems to be the MO with FIFA fair play in effect.

I'm a Spurs fan but I am very fond of Liverpool.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
