Chris Bosh mid range wow.

Post#1 » by Heats_Finest » Thu Nov 22, 2012 12:23 pm

I was just reading an article about Bosh's mid range this year, and this was inside the article

"Bosh has made more 16-to-23-footers than Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony put together. "
Incredible.

He's shooting a league-leading 67 percent from 16 to 23 feet, which is almost twice as efficient as the league average (38 percent), according to Hoopdata.com. If Bosh nestles inside the 3-point line by the right elbow for a shot, better start running the other way.

Serious?

Here's the full article if you want it, really proud of Bosh this year.

I read that article a while ago, good stuff. but i didnt need it to recognize Chris has been balling this year.

He just seems more comfortable out there, his Shot is more consistent, and he seems to be doing good against Centers who are slower then him. .

Also, he seems to get much more opportunities on the Pick and roll, we're doing a much better job at finding him when he rolls to the basket. his defense looks very solid, he's blocking more shots and playing "bigger" on D.

One thing i think he could work on is, strangly, finishing around the basket. he seem to miss some easy bunnies.

Overall, a very good start to the season from Chris.

I always knew he was an elite mid range shooter, but I was more expecting to hear around the 45-50% mark, because you seem to remember makes more often than misses, so I just assumed I was thinking that he makes much more than he does. But after reading the article it just further confirms that this guy is cash money on that mid range jumpshot.

I didn't know that him shooting from the right elbow is much more lethal than the left side though, I'll have to watch for that in the next few games.

It has to do with him being lefty, his left arm is lined up easier, which prob explains why he hits the corner 3 where his left arm is inside the court (ex that top corner gm 7 vs c's)

Still only a few games in. He is shooting great but I'm not sure we should get accustomed to him shooting in the mid 60s.

We need to start taking the "big" out of the conversation.

I feel Bosh has a top 3 stroke, and is top 5 all around shooters in the league at this point.

Yeah, not surprising. A lot of righties prefer to shoot fromt the left side and vice versa. That’s also why Ray Ray is a serial killer from the left corner.

Bosh unfortunately will never get the full credit he deserves while playing alongside LeWade. This guy is a legitimate All Star entering his prime and huge part of this team's success. Thanks to his mid-range game he's always going to be a scoring threat even in his mid/late 30's.

Not sure if the Heat could have landed a better player to have as their 3rd (and eventually 2nd) option.

Very impressive. 60+% is unlikely to be sustainable but he should finish near the top of the league.

The only problem is he is probably taking too many of those long twos. Its fine when you are hitting 60% of them of course but if that doesn't last he should go to the rim more.

Bosh is the best 3rd option in the league. The dude is the ultimate TEAM guy!

Bosh was 8-9th ranked player for 2 years. Don't see why anyone wanted Boozer or Amare's 1 trick game.
