gervinho is a deadly player but he really needs to learn to keep his head up and look for his teammates. you can see the guys throwing their hands up in frustration when he dribbles around, head down, and gets the ball stolen.
the knicks =/

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
If Gervinho had a finishing production as good as his creative one, he would be in Ballon d'Or contention
I saw him during those years in Lille, the most frustrating player ever he had 2 or 3 +10 goals +10 assists season but when you see him player it's more like he could have had +30 goals +20 assists season
But my guess is that is already 25 years old and he will never make the leap to being a clearly better finisher he might progress tho...

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
looks like we're going to be making the switch to adidas shirts in the future , more $$$ coming in our way , once we renew all these commercial deals and get better one's it should put us in the top 5 clubs around the world in terms of revenue... hopefully then we can invest in the club and the squad..

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
^^ Announced today that they've renewed the shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates for 5 years/ 150 Million pounds. Which is the second highest rate in the world behind Man U, and 25 MIllion per season more than we were getting.
Good news, we have a couple more deals up for renewal which will give us a lot more money to invest in the squad.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Has there been any speculation on Huntelaar joining Arsenal in the winter transfer window in England?
A TV guy here mentioned that Huntelaar would leave in winter and Arsenal was his destination but that rumor basically came out of nowhere and he didn't mention any sources either.

It sounds like it also includes rights to training kits, stadium naming etc. It's remarkable how much United are getting paid for training kits alone

i love the increase in money but i wish it came as a big increase from nike. i hate how the the 3 stripes are always such a prominent part of the shirt

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
It doesn't include stadium rights, just kit sponsorship till 2019. The deal we have with Emirates over stadium rights goes for a few more years. We do have our kit manufacturing deal with Nike expiring, apparently we're switching to Adidas and we'll get a fair bit more there too.
I've heard rumours of Huntelaar, but that's all. Wenger confirmed we'll be in the market for a striker in January, but that's it so far.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Nevermind, you're right does include an extension on the naming rights to the stadium.

but yeah this team has been very inconsistent. that spurs game i didn't think we would have won if adebayor got that red card honestly.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Did Emirates sink money into building the new stadium for Arsenal? They seem to have got a pretty good bargain for the naming rights imo.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
i keep seeing stuff mentioned about upfront money, so i wonder if we took less overall to get a bunch up front to help with the stadium

I thought so too and Arsenal then made a nice chunk from selling the flats constructed near Highbury. I loved Highbury even though it was small, it had that effect that the spectators were literally surrounding the pitch, the surface was always silky and that old clock was pretty cool as well.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
So does anyone think we'll actually end up with Llorente or Lewandowski like some of the "rumors" are predicting?

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
not a chance.
huntelaar seems pretty definite though. a fairly low priced dutch international isn't something we'll pass on even though he's just a somewhat better version of giroud
