Wonder how much damage Nene did to his foot...

If we could get Kevin to play physically like Nene, we won't miss Nene as-much when he is out for his next stretch of games.

Didn't like Wittman's coaching at all at the end of the game.
1. Find a way to ensure the ball is in Beal's hands at the end of regulation
2. Giving the foul is popular amongst coaches, but I dont see the benefit if there are five seconds on the clock. Either foul with 1-2 seconds left or play D. You can't let them tie it up without making a shot.
3. Randy just can't draw up a play off the inbounds at the end of a game. Terrible play, eerily similar to the one he drew up v Boston when Martell got stuck in the corner. Players are in no position to attack after they receive the ball.
4. In OT, why did Price start the play so early? In that situation, it's double OT or you lose. That's unnacceptable to give ATL another shot
5. It was painfully obvious that Randy didnt have the group ready to defend after a made shot.
Horrible game mgmt but Randy.

Nene does a heck of a more than just physical play in the post though.
Why does Kevin always move on his screens? It's baffling. You've done your job -- forced the defender to decide whether to play the screen high or low. Whether contact is made is the guard's responsibility, not yours. You just stand there and be big.

I think with Wall and Nene, this team would be 7-3. Probably why Ernie is still around
They would at least be .500 That's pretty easy to see.
We saw what a different Nene made last night and just remember, Nene could have started the year if he just took care of the injury that he left last season with. He could have had 6 straight month to get it right. Same time Booker had to get his right. Nene is the one most the blame for this bad start because he chose to not rest his injury because he wanted to play in the Olympics.
So with Nene alone, they easily could have won half these games. We saw this same Nene effect last year.
I find most of the Ted and EG hate to be frustration that is misdirected.
Again, I would have done things very different, but I can not just what they did do until I see it on the court.

It is also true that we would have won half of our games if the team had better talent. Again, our record speaks for itself.

Feeling I get when I watch Beal is that he doesn't really want to take the big shot. Players who want the ball fight through whatever and get the ball.

That said, it was a very tough loss! Must have been hard in the locker room. I'm sure there are a lot of frustrated and angry guys in there -- I expect to see a few wins in a row in the next week or so.
(...which doesn't mean I think we're any good as a team of course...)
Though stretch coming up. SA, NY, and Miami
But if Nene is in deed ready to return and give them 20-25 minutes a night, they have some opportunities against Charlotte, Portland, and Atlanta again.
The schedule doesn't get easy again until Tue, Dec 18 when they get ATL, ORL, DET, DET, CLE, ORL all in the row. And I expect Wall should be ready by or before then.
With Nene and without Wall, they can beat the lesser teams and win a few against middle of the pack teams, but to stand a chance against the better teams, they need both Wall and Nene. With just Nene, I would be surprised if they win more then 2 or 3 games against CHA, SA, POR, NYN, MIA, ATL, GS, NO, HOU, LAL, MIA.
That is what they are up against until the Dec 18th run of games. That 11 games. They are 0-10 now. Could be 2-19 or 3-18 by the time that easier run happens. Even if they run the table with Wall back against those easier teams they put them at 8-19 or 9-18 . The year will be ending and there will be 55 more games to play.
If they play 45% to 50% ball from then out, that puts you in that 32 to 36 win range which is what most of us thought to start the year give the Wall and Nene injuries.
So why be down on them. We know it was going to be a really rough start without either of them.
With Wall and Nene, many here think they would fight for the 8th slot.
With Nene only they can beat the bad teams and win some against the medium teams
With both they can win against the bad team, 50-60% against the medium and 10-25% against the better teams.
Thats a ton better then the team they had to start last year. And its still a lottery team.

So we should get the see the full roster starting mid Dec. I think we will see some good ball.
They add another draft pick next year and going into the following year, they should be at full strength to start the year which will be a playoff team with Wall in his prime and Beal in year 2.

I think its because he wants to roll. He has regressed with his picks. Looks a little to much like McGee used to now. I agree. Kevin has had some seriously suck games. Nice to see he got some rebounds yesterday and boxed out better but he also has had lots of sinkers. Kid has to step it up. This is his 3rd year. He has physical talent. He has to play more physical.
I feel like he has established the hook and mid range enough that it is time for him to focus on other things. He needs to set picks better. He need to rebound consistently, box out and defend. And he needs to develop a fake off his established shots such that he can draw fouls. Nene has 10 FTA in 20 minutes. Kevin has has 10 FTA is 206 minutes. Major failure.

Every time I watch Nene play for us I feel like I'm in that Ray Bradbury story on Venus watching the sun come out after 7 years of rain and darkness. Shouldn't be weird watching the guys in red white and blue actually put the ball in the basket, and then not giving up a basket on the other end- but it is.
You just hope he didn't ruin his foot after 10 minutes last night and send us back to another 7 years of the basketball gods pisssing on us.

I love whoever compared the Wizards/CSN damage control to the Fox News damage control under the W administration.
sadly true

I hate the idea that you're just going to give a foul unless you do it exactly right, leaving
virtually NO time on the clock. Of course we did it wrong and allowed enuf time for a cheap visit
to the FT line when we shouldn't have even been in that position.
re- #5 - I think that's gotta on the players to have the awareness that the game wasn't
over and to get ready to make a play.
my kingdom for a defensive rebound
