I also think some around 2008 he started to look more for calls on jump shots than he did previously and would would brick a normally makeable shot trying to fall into his defender. It's when I thought Wade started to look solely for calls a significant amount of the time rather than trying to make a basketball play first. The change in mentality could've been because he felt more confident in putting points up in the board that way after his injury though.

I also think we all as heat fans tend to overrate how good his mid-range game was though. While it has obviously regressed, expectations for players are different when they are still relatively new to the league. As a rising star his mid-range game was very impressive, more so than it usually would be, especially because he was so good so early in his career.

Couldn't say it better

The infamous pump fake was born and the flow of his J wasn't a smooth stroke

2009 he was pulling up without hesitation

Plus he was a huge gym rat that off season

Good points on the pump fake. Not like I'm against the pump fake, though. It helps him get to the line and forces pesky defenders to think twice about playing close.

He needs to do like Paul Pierce and find a balance between knowing when to pump fake and knowing when to go for the jumpshot.

He's shooting pretty good from mid-range SO FAR, numbers will go down but it's definitely a good sign that he's actually gaining confidence in it.

Wade is the worst Jump Shooter at the SG.

Solid contribution from a "fan" of 1/6th of the teams in the league.

I've never wanted to punch someone in the face so badly. Really hoping to run into him at a game one day. I won't hesitate.

No matter what you want to believe wade is a bad shooter, very streaky and prone to not getting back on defense.

I would just like to say

Most people do not realize, or take that pic of wade in a wheelchair, make jokes etc.

Wade's shoulder injury, the doctor said almost literally his arm was just hanging by skin. Claimed it was one of the worst shoulder injuries he's had come to him.

I am surprised Wade didn't become half the player he was because of it, let alone a slightly worse jump shooter.

Your username comes from a guy who's an even worse jump shooter than Wade so please spare us your insight.

Wade is a lazy jumpshooter, not a bad one. He and Lebron both have horrible mechanics. Lebron is getting better but still reverts to bad habits) When both shoot You see that they 90% of the time fade back and dont follow through on their shoot.

only problem so far is the short jumper and floaters(3-9 ft). His midrange is the best of his career so far
