Dunlap brought back the "fight" in this team

Post#1 » by dre4bobcats » Fri Nov 23, 2012 9:48 am

Silas basically was retired while still on the sidelines and it showed with the team's performance. I was one of the first critics of the mike dunlap hire, but that was based only off of the unknown about him. These guys are hustling more...he's actually turned mullens into a decent rebounder. Biz and Kemba are looking like they are developing more...

I'm not going to get hype about the start when it comes to the W-L record, I'm happy with 6-4.. but i'm more impressed about how this team is giving more effort and showing a little fire....Reminds me of the larry brown teams

Every offseason move seems to be creating a winning culture.

Instead of a coach who didn't care at all, there's a coach willing to prove himself and light a fire under the players.

Have a lottery pick? Bring in one of the guys from a championship squad.

This team plays SO much harder than last year's team. It really is fun to watch

Makes me think if we didn't have Silas, we may not have been bad enough to get MKG at all.

I was shocked during our game with the Grizzlies at how close we were considering how bad we were offensively. Makes you think if we had anything from the field that night we could have possibly won. Everyone expects the rooks to makes leaps and bounds but we also need to keep an eye on Dunlap. He is going to grow as a coach just as much as the guys are going to grow as players. I'm impressed so far with Dunlap just by the fact that, excluding Mullens some nights, everyone is busting their ass on every play. Good things will happen with that formula, even while changing the culture of a losing team. I expect we'll still lose some games we should win but we'll also win some games that we probably shouldn't. All in all, I can see Dunlap getting a good rapport with our young guys and that is huge for the future.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere
