while Collison clearly hacked him with no intent of making a clean play at the ball. I'll admit that if I were a referee I wouldn't make the call, however, it's just because of the unwritten rule that you don't make calls like these, if they decide the outcome of the game. Otherwise, I believe it's a foul.

it was idiotic defending by collison, but generally speaking i would prefer that refs didnt make calls like that to decide games. it was also idiotic decision making by crash who wasted about 4 seconds passing the ball back to jax.

I don't know how to tweet and I would only communicate with my arch nemesis to challenge him to a duel to end our two-decade-long feud.

and now reading back through that game thread, i remember one of the things that pissed us off so much. almost an identical play happened a few games earlier vs the celtics. however, in that play livingston doesnt make contact with piece, but piece gets the call and the celtics beat the cats. few days later, similar play against us, except with contact and no call.

tontonpoulet wrote:The beauty of the game is in the level of competition and the drama that plays out from this. Especially when the players lay it all out on the line to win a game. That's why we watch sports and not soap operas. Essentially, it's not supposed to be scripted.
Whether the Raptors didn't make a free throw or didn't make a defensive stop is inconsequential. Whether Charlotte made a shot or ran the right plays also doesn't matter. That's because despite all the good or bad decisions made by both teams throughout the game, the outcome was decided by someone else's mistake. And that's a shame. It's events like this which make the game less enjoyable to watch. Like the Tim Donaghy situation. Or how bad NFL fans wanted replacement refs gone. Nobody wants to watch a game that's not decided by the players.
Now some people will say that they don't care and ish happens. I guess that reaction would be expected because it was against the Raptors. But if you're a prideful Charlotte fan and MKG fouled Lebron on that last play and the refs didn't call it. Would you be able to boast with certainty that you beat the defending champs? This goes for any team.
And that's what sucks about what happened in that game. It just taints the sport a little more. Especially if the NBA doesn't try to clean it up.
That's not how it works though.
You can't just point to the last possession in a game and say everything before it was inconsequential. There were tons of missed calls that had an effect on the game regardless of when it happened. You can point to the final possession as the only thing that made an impact on the game but that's just not the case. That wasn't the only mistake made by the ref.

Oh I remembered it, it was huge as it was crucial to our playoff chances that year. I think if we won, we probably would have made it, but we lost and decided to tank.
Jax even had his agent make a complaint to the NBA about the foul and he gets treated by the refs.

You guys made me realize we once lost on David Lee basket on an inbound play with 0.1 secoddns left although it was said there is/was at that time a rule, that's enough time to catch and shoot the ball.
How is it we don't we have a thread about how refs are mean and biased against already? (yeah it would be out of page 1 in a week or less most probably - by that I mean displaying on page 1 of the board).

The Raptors loss to the Pistons on a Brandon Knight game winner (no sarcasm), and they're crying again

How many of those were game deciding miss calls?
That's not game deciding. Bargnani still has to make shots. The only game deciding call is a non call that allows too many points, not denying extra opportunities.
