Coach Smart explains some Tyreke Evans decisisons
On if he considered putting Evans back in the game sooner:
“We were up and the team had a good flow. All you had to do was do the right thing and close the game out the right way. We tried to go one-on-one and we lost the ball, we had bad shots.”
On not giving Evans the ball on the possession with 32.4 secs to play:
"You saw the last couple of plays they backed off of him and they were inviting him to take the shot there. So it wasn’t a thing where he was going to be able to get to the basket."

Just watched that YouTube video of Smart talking about roles up there...Uh...what??? Maybe I'm still in my turkey induced coma, but from over here, he made zero sense and contradicted himself about five times.

Yeah that is bs about roles....everyone has them.
Roles may change depending on who is in or rotations.

Re: @Utah
I don't think it should have been Tyreke in the last play. We should have however been doing everything we could to get Thornton a good shot.
But regardless, we lost the game in the last several minutes, not just on the last play. On the bright side, I thought the team played legitimately well for around 40-42 minutes in total. The problem was the very familiar one of the ball movement completely stopping in the final few minutes. I would say we can improve this, but it's been a problem for years, and we haven't so far. Along with some bad D (by Cuz in particular), that is what killed us.
With that said, Brooks was fouled. But you could argue that that happens and you need to have a stronger player with the ball there to handle the contact. But this is mostly about the problem of ball movement coming to a halt in the final minutes.

Re: @Utah
^^
The reason why they have problems of executing is that our players think they can take any shot and make it. Smart is too much of a player's coach to say anything to them.
I lost count of how many times of how they play an awesome 40+ minutes and to lose it in the last stretch of the game. We simply do NOT have a legit leader-type of player that basically put these players in their places if things goes wrong. We have none.
What they have now are a bunch of players who think they can have a free reign under Smart and Smart is okay by it. If it was with a legit coach, he would have this team disciplined and be challenging a lower playoff seeds already.
To me, we have a bunch of decent, good-willed people in the roster and I don't think any of our players would oppose a legit coach (not Westphal, more of a Popovich type) and veteran players that get on their asses constantly.
A lot of our players would excel on another team if that team has a coach that can maximize their strengths, provide constant critiquing and is not afraid to say something (& with veterans too).

Re: @Utah
I really think Smart forgot to tell the players that they were out of timeouts. Our guys were calling one. We're lucky they weren't T'd up. They were completely not ready to do that.

Brooks may or may not have been fouled, but we can't be the type of team that depends on getting a foul ON THE ROAD to win the game. How many times did we lose in that exact situation last year?
