AP Arrested

Post#1 » by BIGGIEsmalls 23 » Sun Jul 8, 2012 6:33 am

Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest after an early-morning incident where police say it took three officers to subdue him.

Houston Police Department spokesperson Kese Smith said Peterson was at a downtown nightclub early Saturday morning when an off-duty Houston police officer working security asked Peterson and a group of people he was with to leave because the club had closed.

Smith said the man identified himself as a police officer. The officer left to tell other patrons to leave the club before returning to Peterson's group again to tell it to leave.

Smith said Peterson turned around and told the officer that he heard him the first time and pushed him in the shoulder, causing him to stumble. The officer told Peterson he was under arrest and to put his hands behind his back. Peterson began yelling, pulled away and "assumed an aggressive stance," so another off-duty officer came to help. Peterson continued to struggle with both.

The 27-year-old player finally was handcuffed with the help of a third off-duty officer. Peterson complained of shortness of breath after he was taken to a Houston jail and was examined by Houston Fire Department personnel, who said he was OK.

i believe peterson is cool. But according to the story . . . "a group of people" is usually what screws things up. When you hang with the "group," its usually that "group" that gets the stars actin up or into trouble.

Houston PD has so many incidents like this it's crazy. Based on their reputation alone, I'm prone to believing AD shouldn't have any consequences.

His court date is this Friday. Most of Houston is supporting Peterson's side of events. HPD has some serious racial issues even though over 60% of the force is nonwhite.

*BUMP*

I started the thread, so I wanted to make sure that I cleared his name.

Misdemeanor resisting arrest charges against Adrian Peterson have been dropped, the Minnesota Vikings running back said in a text Tuesday to ESPN's Josina Anderson.

"They dropped the charges. Thank God," he wrote in the text.

HPD is bad enough I don't even want to have layovers in Hou any more. What a joke.
