Is Faried massively overrated?

ESPN just ranked him as the 37th best fantasy player. Is there something I'm missing here? Unless your playing in a league with double-doubles or punting FT% I think he's massively overrated. Faried has good (but not elite) rebounding and FG% numbers but is average to horrible at everything else. More importantly, his FT% is so bad that it cancels out much of the advantage he gives you in rebounds and FG%. Someone just offered him to me for Paul Millsap. Honestly, I wouldn't even pick him up if he was on the waiver wire.

He provides decent scoring at around 13ppg he shoots like 55 from the floor which is always nice, he is providing elite level rebounds about a block and a steal a game, only around 1.5 TO's.

I think much of his value comes from potential, across the board production,

Keep in mind he is currently ranked like 140 on yahoo

Why so? This seems like a no-brainer to turn down. Faried's only advantages over Millsap is that he has a moderately better FG% and 2.5 more rebounds per game. Millsap has the advantages in points, blocks, assists, threes, steals, and, most importantly, shoots 71% from the line compared to Faried's 52%.

He isn't overrated. He is a good role player that can help you win games. Especially in H2H

if he fixes his ft% a bit... like over 70%... he'll be gold. however, his value right now might be a tad overrated since he's so flashy

Yes.

Elite in two categories, more upside (he's only getting 30 mpg), low turnovers, good defensive stats.
