KOTB entry: Boston/Minnesota/Washington
If you believe all teams would accept this trade, vote yes. If you believe otherwise, vote no. Please explain your vote Thanks.
Boston receive: Ridnour, Williams, Ariza.
Boston trade: Lee, Green, Melo, Collins, Joseph, 2013 1st round pick (should be around the 20's), future 2nd round pick.
Rondo, Ridnour
Bradley, Terry, Barbosa
Pierce, Ariza.
Bass, Sullinger, Williams
Garnett, Wilcox
The Celtics get a proper backup PG but retain a strong 5 guard rotation. A Ridnour/Lee trade is not far off value wise. Ariza is overpaid like Green (probably a slight downgrade), also turn assets into Williams who may thrive whilst in Boston. At worst he is a reasonably well played role player.
Minnesota receive: Lee, Melo, Collins, Jo.Crawford, BOS 1st.
Minnesota trade: Williams, Ridnour.
Quite simply they need a SG. They do not need a 3rd string PG. They also turn Williams into a pick, prospect in Melo and another guard on a cheap deal. Correct me If I am wrong but if Roy retires they can take on another roster space (in this case Melo) - Collins or another player can be cut.
Rubio, Barea
Lee, Shved, Jo.Crawford
Kirilenko, Budinger, Howard
Love, Cunningham
Pekovic, Amundson, Stiemsma
Washington receive: Green, Joseph, 2nd round pick from Boston.
Washington trade: Ariza, Jo. Crawford.
They swap Ariza for a different SF/PF. Ariza is not playing well in the capital so the Wizards change it up. I saw a Green/Ariza swap suggested by a Wizards fan a few weeks back so pretty sure they are no adverse to the idea. Also get a prospect in Joseph and a pick.

Washington says no. Jeff Green sucks worse than Ariza this year, he is paid more, and for two years longer. It makes no sense for a struggling team like Washington to add even more salary.

Would have to disagree with you there.
Honestly think Washington make this trade.

I vote yes.
Boston should do it just to get rid of Jeff Green. Lee is a luxury when bradley returns and they could groom williams, he's in dire need of a second chance.
Minny should just give up on d-will, he'll never be what they want behind love.
Washington takes Green in hope he'll return to what he was and dumps to below average xpirings for that.
Maybe send bostons pick to washington, lottery protected for a few years.

Eh, it doesn't really do much for me as a Wolves fan. D-will isn't very good but neither is the stuff we are getting back. Lee is probably average at SG but he's played terrible this year. I never liked Melo as a prospect, and JoCrawl is a terrible chucker who wouldn't play here.

No from Wolves. There really isn't anything that worthwhile coming back.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt

Re: KOTB entry: Boston/Minnesota/Washington
Ridnour for Lee is a pretty fair trade in my opinion. Similar salary. Lee is younger with more upside. Both would fill a need on respective teams and are underused on their current teams.
That means Melo (picked 22 in a deep draft), a first round pick (likely 17-21) and Crawford for Williams.
Crawford is a chucker but he adds something different and as a 5th guard he would be a decent acquisition. (might not be as much of a chucker in Minnesota) - he is also on a very nice contract, the sort of money you would want pay your 5th guard.
What else would you expect for Williams?
How can this deal be made better for them?

First off, how many roster spots do you think Minnesota has? They cannot make a lopsided trade like this, I think quite frankly MN would prefer Malcolm Lee to Crawford so waiving Lee isn't even an option. How do you make the trade better? Well IDK, but a better more realistic return on Williams is a good start.

What part do you disagree with?
Do you think Green has played better than Ariza? Green's PER so far this year is a pathetic 9.3, and he has never been known for defense. At least Ariza is posting a respectable of PER of 13.9 while playing pretty good defense. (He is the best defender on a team that ranks 11th overall in DRtg.)
Or do you disagree with my comment on salary? Green is owed $9M a year for the next 4 years. Ariza is owed $7.5M a year for the next 2 years.

Re: KOTB entry: Boston/Minnesota/Washington
I think Lee would be a better starter than bench player, he just doesn't have the bench players attitude (like Terry, Ginobli, Barbosa etc).
I also think that Green has higher potential than Ariza.
I think it is a risk Washington would take. Did you see Green last night?
Disagree on nobody wanting Lee. I think Minny would.

I agree with you that Courtney Lee has more value in MIN, with Lee's experience with Adelman and their giant hole at SG. However, Courtney Lee is a pretty big risk right now, playing horrible and with 4 guaranteed years.
I think he clearly has negative value, and BOS would have to provide incentive to move him, even to MIN. He's certainly not worth Ridnour, who has been more productive and is also on a better contract. I personally think it would take incentive like Melo just to swap Lee for Brandon Roy's expiring deal, and with $21 mil on the books for Lee, that may not even be enough.
