I must admit I have always been a fan of this "Flea Agent's" high jinks and shenanigans.
By any chance will he be at the game tonight?
In my humble opinion, just having him in attendance alone is well worth the inflated price of admission. :D

GT - Spurs vs. Wizards (11/26/12 @ 7pm)

Post#2 » by MDStar » Mon Nov 26, 2012 2:28 pm

Not sure why I decided that it was a good idea to start the game thread on the night when we're playing the 11-3 Spurs but I figured, "what the heck?" On the bright side, even though we did lose the last two games, we've done so by a combined 3 pts. It is obvious to see that we can actually be competitive when Nene is on the court, unfortunately he is not able to play more than half a game as of yet and without him, we are TERRIBLE! Hopefully, this is the game where he can settle in to his starting role for about 30 min, move Vesley to DNP-CD and pray for someone else to step-up offensively. And while I'm basically praying at the moment, i'll end it with a "God, please convict the spirit of Jordan Crawford, so that he's is able to understand that he currently does not have the basketball ability, in which he believes he does. Please allow his spirit to have peace, as he learns this about himself. And Lord, if it is your will, I would really love a victory tonight. Amen."

All things are possible, in Christ Jesus.

Spurs-Wizards Preview

As if things weren't already going terribly for the Washington Wizards, they'll now have to contend with a red-hot Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs.

He'll look to help lead visiting San Antonio to a 13th consecutive victory over winless Washington on Monday night.

The Spurs (11-3) got a game-high 32 points from Parker in a 111-106 double-overtime victory Sunday at Toronto, their third straight win. Parker, averaging 30.3 points and 7.0 assists while shooting 61.2 percent during the winning streak, scored six during the second OT.

"It could've gone either way. We had to work for this one," Parker said. "In the second overtime it was close and they were switching the pick and rolls and I was just trying to get a rhythm."

Tim Duncan added 26 points and is averaging 22.0 points and 12.8 rebounds over his last four.

"He's our closer and he has been that way for the last couple of years," Duncan said of Parker. "He steps up and makes big shots for us. That's what we ask him to do and he's delivered for us."

Each of San Antonio's wins during the streak have come in the midst of a six-game road trip, which doesn't seem to bother the NBA's best road team. Manu Ginobili scored 15 points Sunday for the Spurs, who are 7-1 away from home and will face Orlando on Wednesday before ending the trip with a showdown against Miami on Thursday.

"We take pride in winning on the road," Ginobili said.

San Antonio has won 11 of 12 against teams other than the Los Angeles Clippers, and it doesn't appear Washington will be the squad to slow it down. The Spurs have won 12 straight meetings after Parker hit 13 of 18 shots and scored 31 points in a 112-97 victory in the most recent matchup March 12.

Washington's last win in the series came on Nov. 12, 2005, when Duncan shot 3 for 18.

At this point, the Wizards would take a victory over any team. Their franchise-worst start hit 0-11 after a 108-106 double-overtime loss to Charlotte on Saturday.

Martell Webster scored 21 points and Nene added 19 off the bench for Washington, which was coming off a 101-100 overtime defeat at Atlanta on Wednesday.

"I don't know how many games we lost. I just know there were a couple games we were supposed to win," Nene said.

The Wizards are the league's lowest-scoring team averaging 89.8 points, and coach Randy Wittman is putting the brunt of the blame on himself for the constant losing.

Each defeat brings them closer to the worst start in NBA history, set by a New Jersey team that lost its first 18 games in 2009-10.

"It's hard to win a game," Wittman said. "You have to make plays down the stretch. I thought we had three great looks, they just didn't go in. A lot of things -- start of the game, start of third quarter.

"That lies with me. I'm not pointing a finger at my players. Obviously, it lies with me, I know it lies with me and I need to figure a way out to get this righted. That's what my job is and I'll take full responsibility for that."

San Antonio has won the last seven meetings by an average of 19.9 points.
Just let the young boys play! It's truly the only hope at this point.

I think this is a blowout either way. Either the Spurs blow us out of the gym (most likely scenario) or it becomes a trap game for the Spurs and we get a double digit win to break the losing streak. I will be surprised if its another close game.

my only hopes for this season is a new gm, a consolidation of some our players into a trade that nets us a good player ( luol deng) and a high draft pick like poythress, shabazz or zeller. losing doesn't hurt me anymore. dont want a win until moves are made

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/spurs-wiza ... --nba.html

San Antonio has won the last seven meetings by an average of 19.9 points.

If Nene and Okafor start this game it could be close. It won't be a 20-point blowout either way...

Very winnable game...

The Spurs are 7-1 on the road and coming off an OT win and 3 straight wins. Instead of seeing this is an absolutely lock (as it appears) I would see this as a trap game for SA. They are old and energy will factor in this game.

Washington is a good rebounding team. The Wizards are a desperate team. The Wizards are much better than their record with Nene playing through his soreness. Much as the Wizards look hapless, they have outplayed ATL, BOS, CHA for much of the games before losing. Washington can win because the Wizards shoot a lot of threes and they hit the boards. Danny Green got the best of Beal, but guys like Webster and Ariza can shoot over him. Beal has played Charlotte and Boston better the second time around. I don't think he's going to be shy this time.

If I were a hopeless gambler, I would put some down on the Wizards to win this if I got a big enough return.

Going on a really, really, really long limb I think the Wizards will win 105-104.

(Don't lose money on me, but that's the way I see it going down.)

Either the Spurs are going to be tired coming off there 2OT win last night and we may be able to sneak a win or this may happen while Wizards spirits are down:

I've seen way too many people talking about how the Wizards have a plausible shot at this one for us to have a plausible shot at this one.

I'm going to keep assuming that we will lose until proven otherwise (or until Wall comes back).

This one could be ugly, but I hope not. For 0-11 this team has at least shown some hussle and some fight. I still like watching this years Wizards team play. No they do not have great talent on the floor, but there is no boneheaded jackassery to have to endure either. Most games they look like they are trying to execute a coherent gameplan on offense and especially on defense. (I think they are much better defensively than the last couple of years.) Their shots are not falling and they don't have the talent to will some buckets in. Perhaps tonight is the night, but I doubt it. Just want to see them stay competitive.

Only way I see us winning is if Crawford has one of his rare amazing shooting nights

what are the chances of that happening?

only other alternative is if virtually everything goes right for us
and they play tired after their 2OT win last night.

History says SAN wins and it won't be close. If I was gambling, unless
there was a heavy points spread, really heavy, I'd take SAN.

Over at basketball-reference, they give the Spurs a 63% chance of winning, which is actually a closer matchup than I'd have expected. Probably because it's a back-to-back road game for the Spurs.

I think the Wizards have a realistic chance of getting to 0-22 based on how they've played so far. The most winnable upcoming game for them is number 18 -- a road game against the Hornets. Maybe Wednesday night -- home game against Portland.
