This is the trade we need to make at the deadline. This trade will make the bobcat's backcourt secure for the future, and make us even more entertaining right now. At the same time the addition of neither guy will hender our rebuilding progress.

Charlotte out: Ben Gordon, Gerald Henderson

Charlotte In: Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb

Oklahoma out: Kevin, Jeremy

Oklahoma Inn Ben Gordon, Gerald Henderson

OKC doesn't do this. They won't take the downgrade from Martin to Ben Gordon (and pay extra money) just so they can pay Henderson his contract next summer. They traded Harden so they wouldn't have to pay extra.

With the uncertainty of Brandon Roy and knee injury to Chase Budinger the T'Wolves are desperate for wing players. Cho may be able to rob Kahn out of some valuable assets.

Doesnt need to be a lockdown defender just not a liability.
Doesnt need to get to the line. MKG and Kemba both are gonna live there.

Needs to be a consistent scorer though, because Kemba is not gonna be a 20 point guy night in and night out. I expect his scoring to be random with nights him going for 30+ and others single digits. So a guy who can pour in 17 points a game consistently. MKG is going to do the small things like rebound, block shots, and steals.

guys currently in the NBA that fit this bill.

Marcus Thornton
Wesley Matthews
James Harden
Nick Young
Jeremy Lamb
Klay Thompson
Bradley Beal

I think all these guys would be great fits style wise with MKG and Kemba.

i would add a few more to this list (not suggesting that i want this guys over anyone on your list, just adding)

I want to see Jeremy Lamb back alongside Kemba. That would be amazing.

I think you guys are selling Tyreke short. He is on a garbage team in a terrible situation with very poor coaching. I'd rather take a chance on him than have to pay Henderson 6m-8m a year. If we are going to let Henderson walk, whats the risk? If Tyreke doesn't work out, don't extend him.

What do you think the Bobcats are? Especially with Gordon & Sessions stealing minutes at SG. Tyreke is selling himself short lately by allowing his numbers to decrease every year after his rookie season despite still getting quality minutes. I like Tyreke though and probably wouldn't mind doing the trade for Hendo, but it's a calculated risk.

Tyreke is in a situation like last year's Bobcats. This year's Bobcats have direction and purpose.

The Kings have no purpose. They have no coaching.

for bobsbuddy

latest news on hendo

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/1 ... aling.html

It sounds like at least another week before Charlotte Bobcats captain Gerald Henderson will be well enough to play again.

In an exclusive interview Tuesday with the Observer, Henderson said his sprained left foot is still sore and he hasn’t been cleared for full activity on the basketball court.

“I’d say around a week. I’d have to be able to run and jump first and get a couple of practices in to get myself in decent enough shape because I’ve missed some time,” he said after a session of shooting and ball-handling.

this was posted middle of last week, so it seems hendo will be back soon after the OKC game. perhaps sixers or hawks.

more on hendo, from yesterday

hey’ve done a good job of surviving without Gerald Henderson (sprained foot). But they could sure use him now, particularly as a versatile scorer. I just don’t know that he’ll be recovered before they come home to play the Philadelphia 76ers.

This year I have been pleasantly surprised by both Mayo and Smith. As you guys said to be successful long-term we need scoring from the 2 and these 2 can provide that in spades while still being in their mid-20s.

For that reason I'd love to see us make a serious play for either of those guys and let Henderson go.

So, with Hendo's return imminent, who loses playing time? Viking has been crucial to the team's good play.

Probably Gordon and Viking lose several of their minutes.

My guess would be that Turtle never sees another minute, and MKG will take Tyrus/Warrick's minutes at PF as JT will play backup SF, while Hendo & BG will split 48 minutes at SG with whoever playing worst at the time getting the short end of the stick. Theoretically, everybody will lose minutes from Haywood down to Kemba.

I don't see why JT can't start at SG, he has the skillset and athleticism to do so (at least in the future if not now).

I don't think we really need 15 ppg from our shooting guard if we're getting 40 ppg from the 1 and 3 spot. That's 65 ppg tied up in starting smalls, who can be unreliable if playing a good defensive team. I think I'd rather see us find additional scoring down low instead of looking for more perimeter play.
