Me neither, Strong.
The national media hates the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, & White Sox. The only team that they show a little love to are the Cubs.
The East coast media hate of the Bears goes back to 1985-86 & the Superbowl shuffle. The Bears were looked at as being arrogant and full of themselves. They beat up America's (read media's) Team, then they crushed the beloved NY Giants and demolished the Patriots (both favorite teams of the eastern US). Those 3 scores added up to 111-10. The media lined up against them. In the Super Bowl, one of the announcers even said - If not for the early Patriots fumble, it would have been a different game.

The next year, the media was all over them with every loss & then the Flutie/McMahon stuff and the media hate was on. It's fed on itself and never stopped.

So, the media hates the Bears because we had arguably the best team ever & the media hates the Bulls because we had arguably the best team/player ever.
It's a shame that jealousy shapes the national media narrative when it comes to sports

Yesterday was a good win, and a step in the right direction. Hopefully our injured guys can return soon. Our next two games are when Seattle comes comes to Chicago to play us, and then we play the Vikings again. Those are two very winnable games, especially if Seattle's corners are suspended.
After that, we get the big showdown with Green Bay.

i would be amazed if those guys didn't appeal their suspensions while the team is still in the playoffs hunt

I either read it or heard it on TV that the suspensions are on hold until the appeal process is over. Outside of Braun, as anyone ever won an appeal on "supplements"? I can't think of any off the top of my head right now.
Just saw that they put Lance Louis in IR as well.

^ This. Its the east coast media bias. The east coast has so much media, they cater to their own opinions.
New York is the "media mecca of the world". Why prop us up when they can prop up themselves.
Chicago, being big , popular, modern and urban, is a threat.
Green Bay isnt.

Re: PG: Cutler, Bears Bounce Back against Vikings
One thing im trying to wrap my head around is Julius Peppers spending so much time at DT?
This guy is one of the best Ends in the Nfl, ever, and were mucking him up in the interior?
Where being double teamed is way more likely and so many more hands can get on him?
We already have Collins, Okoye, Idonije (since Wooten is starting) on top of our starters Paea and Melton.
Been holding my tongue on this for a few weeks.

Very true. I like moving him around the O-Line from time to time to keep the QB confused as to where the rush will be coming from, but he's playing DT excessively. He's going to get doubled or chipped a lot by TEs or backs as a DE, but as you said he's one of the best ends ever.

Not to mention that our pass rush has slowed downed considerably since the first month of the season. Peppers has actually been used to free up others, like the replay showed yesterday when he purposely took himself out of a play.

actually, I believe Peppers has the freedom to move inside or out when he wants (at least sometimes). I've seen many plays where the D lines up and then Peppers taps a DT to swap with him. Can't stand it.....but....we're 5th in the league in sacks and 1st in interceptions, so whatever they're doing on the D-Line is obviously working better than in years past.

Yea im not a fan of it, but i did notice what you mentioned, about Pep calling his own number to go inside.
Presumably, its a hot read? A predetermined formation/ shift based on what the offense comes out in.
In other news, didnt see it anywhere else, Carimi and Edwin Williams to start at guard per local sports radio.

Jared Allen's hit on Lance Louis knocked the Chicago Bears guard out for the rest of the season and earned the Minnesota Vikings defensive end plenty of scorn from his division rivals.
It also earned him a fine from the NFL.
Allen was fined $21,000 for the hit on Wednesday, according to a person with knowledge of the punishment who spoke on condition of anonymity because the league had not announced the fine.
