I would really hate for him to be on our team again.

Stupidity isn't contageous. I'd take Gooden for a first provided his contract is not to high or too long.

Agreed, if it was one season after this one I could live with it, at least we could buy out next season.

Guys, I'm starting to doubt trading Andy is a good idea. Year he is going to be too old to be any good when the rest of the team is better, but without Kyrie he's it. We have either too young or too bad players that fill the roster. Someone is going to have to offer us the world and take some of our crap too to get me interested in giving up the only thing worth watching today on the Cavs.

I'm finding it hard to care with the overall lack of talent/direction here. Bringing back goober gooden would be close to the last straw.

Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
The only reason you'd entertain Gooden is the same reason we traded Hickson and traded for Baron. Draft picks.
I think the team has a plan, I'm just not positive I've liked the picks that they've made.

Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
Trading Andy is not a real possibility unless another team offers a very good all-star caliber player in return. Centers that average 15 points, 15 rebound and 4 assists a game don't exactly grow on trees. Andy is a late bloomer like Dennis Rodman or Steve Nash and his abilities are just starting to peak. He should be very effective for the next 5-7 years barring injury.

Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
Cavs need to ID at least one good player to trade for in the offseason. This is really the last year we can afford to be a lottery team. Cavs should have around 20-30 million in cap next offseason

Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
I think at this point I would have to consider a package someone on the GB mentioned... Maynor,Perkins,Lamb,PJ3, TOR 1st for Casspi,AV, Gibson
Irving/Maynor/Pargo
Waiters/Lamb/Miles
PJ3/Gee/Miles
Thompson/PJ3/Samuels
Zeller/Perkins
although, Thompson/Zeller and Perkins/PJ3 would fit better on the court together
Westbrook/Gibson/Jackson
Sefalosha/Martin
Durant/Casspi
Ibaka/Collison/Orton
Varejao/Collison/Thabeet
It's still iffy from our point of view though, AV is one of the best bigs in the entire league and we'd be giving him up for Perkins who sucks, a backup PG (a solid one at that, which we need), two unproven players, and a nice pick. They'd also get some nice consistent outside shooting with Gibson and ocassionally Casspi. Like I said too, maybe toss in that SAC pick which may never even be a 1st round pick anyway. We get a lot younger, get some high upside prospects at the wing positions, a solid backup for Irving and of course that TOR pick combined with our 1st this year could yield us a couple of really solid prospects- or they could be combined and traded for a proven guy that's entering his prime. Still though, it may just be better to keep Andy moving forward.

Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
Why would OKC make a big trade now? They are playing so well and look to be a lock to come out of the WC unless Memphis gets hot in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind having that Toronto pick but think Lamb and PJ3 are overrated and definitely don't want Perkins.
I understand the rationale behind possibly trading Andy since he's nearly a decade older than the rest of the young core but really what's the point unless the Cavs can somehow get back a younger big man or SF with potential. I really don't see a great deal out there since most of the playoff teams that would likely covet Andy don't have much to deal that would interest the Cavs.
I do think the Cavs need to stay the course and draft a potential quality starting big man or SF in the next draft. Preferably both if they can somehow consolidate the Miami/Laker swap pick + the 2nd rounders + capspace + possibly Sac pick into another high pick. Add 2 more lottery picks and they should finally have a decent foundation and could be to the point where they can target a splashy player via trade in the next year or two.
In the meantime at least we can watch Kyrie, Dion, Tyler and Andy. Despite the crappy record I don't think any of these guys are going to give up this season. Thankfully alot of the 'talent' at the bottom of the roster should be gone next year.
