If we get Afflalo I'm afraid there won't be enough minutes for him and Shved at SG long term. Plus We have Bud who also needs minutes at both SG & SF

Shved can backup the PG spot, though. Get rid of Williams, Barea and Ridnour and there are a good 25 minutes a piece for Bud and Shved.

Rubio / Shved
Afflalo / Shved / Budinger
Kirilenko / Budinger

Shved is a GREAT passing guard, with a vision almost as good as Ricky's.....but he is NOT a Pg, at least not yet. He dosent have the handling to stay with the ball - when pesky Pg's guard him. Plus he'll finished every night with +6 TO. And until he dominates english, you cant expect a leader role from him yet. Coach already said it twice: Shved is a Sg not a Pg.

He's as good as Ridnour or Barea right now as a 24 year old rookie. Check out the numbers: http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... 01&y3=2013

His English by all accounts is already vastly better than when he first arrived. That should be a non-issue by the end of the season. Oh, and he is making $1+M less than either of our current backup PGs.

I agree that he is a more natural SG than PG but he is younger, cheaper, has a higher upside, and already showing better court vision and decision making than Luke or JJ. I just don't want to overpay for a starting SG when we can possibly get one with a combo of Luke, JJ, and/or Williams instead.

Shved doesn't have the ballhandling of JJ or Luke. I think it's too much to ask him to be a full-time PG. He would be a target of full court press a lot.

I would not go that far.

I think whether he's a sg or pg is moot when you factor in that Shved is always playing with Luke/Jj or Lee anyway. Lee and Shved are both more 2s, Imo, however Lee can guard Pgs and handle some while Shved really can't guard anyone anyway.

Yeah, thats my point. Off course its essential that a Pg has class A passing skills, but the job is so much more than that (knowing the clock, dominating the plays, controlling the tempo, being a leader on the court, handling the ball with pressure, etc). Don't get me wrong, this are things Shevd can learn...but he's not there yet. People are burning JJ too much I think. He's doing a good job when he enter with Shevd as a back-up. Our poor guards stats are consequence of the Luke/Lee starting roles.
