I really hope not.

Ed is mediocre as a GM at best...I really believe Ross and Acy were his & Casey's picks. Not that I think they're awful or anything but Ed has a tendency to take guys he thinks will be "solid" and doesn't swing for homeruns if you look at his track record in Philly. It's been said a million times but this franchise NEEDS to swing for homeruns if it ever hopes to get out of the gutter (ie/ when we traded for VC, drafted TMac, drafted Val, heck even DeRozan etc). Our team needs to take every opportunity they can to swing for a homerun in the draft because we aren't getting one in FA and with Ed, he will lock us into mediocrity again.

Agreed. I think we sort of have battered partner syndrom. Anything short of another VC trade and we're cautiously optimistic. I remember soooo many people saying 'as long as we don't trade our pick or Val' as their baseline for patience with BC's quick fixes, and then the general tone after the trade was 'phew to euphoria'...because, I assume, it wasn't for a 44 year old with bad knees. He's not a buffoon...I think people are waaaay too forgiving.

I've been anti Colangelo since the summer of 2006 when he decided to blow our cap space on
a bunch of Euro Leaguers and drafted Bargnani to surround a 22 year old Chris Bosh. At that time
guys like Yao, Peja, Dirk, Gasol etc were the big things and he thought the game was being overtaken
by International players. He thought by hiring Gherandini he'd have the inside track on Euroleague
players but he ended up recommending the overrated ones.

A major red flag was the resigning of Maceo Baston as inconsequential as that signing may be but
if you remember how bad he was the first time Grunwald signed him it was a bizzare signing
but since he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv Colangelo listened to Maurizo's advice to bring him back.
We also seen this a few years after with Will Soloman.

You know............ I actually hope we keep losing, just so that our pathetic franchise realizes what they're doing wrong. It's either BC makes a trade to win over the fans (or it could be the other way)... or he loses his job... it's that simple.

His decisions have been beyond terrible. I honestly think I could've made better basketball decisions than him this past offseason (i.e. going after Mayo/Beasley, etc. INSTEAD of Fields. Honestly, Fields never crossed my mind. What makes BC sound even more ridiculous and (Please Use More Appropriate Word) is the fact that he had the nerves to compare Fields to Battier. That in itself should tell MLSE that this fu*ker doesnt know what he's talking about... at ALL.

The ONLY thing i'll give him credit for is drafting Valanciunas... and the funny thing is, the only reason I think he did it is because of the noise he heard around the league about JV.

He really does suck as a GM... MLSE needs to replace the entire staff - that's when we'll make a serioud move in the EC.

I'm willing to be patience for another year.

Other than Bargnani, trading away draft picks and stupid FA's - Colangelo has been pretty good at selecting draft players in whatever position he's in:

Valencunias - Derozan - Davis & Ross this year.

Lowry's fine but the Raptors as a team on the court need to get more organized. What is this years "identity?"
Pretty neat and on the fridge for the real fans:

One of those "i wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy" situation.

Man, I really want us to get our draft pick back. I always get excited leading up and during the draft to see who we pick. More so after this season cause not only are we going to finish at the bottom, but we have nothing to get excited about. No draft pick, barely any cap space left to sign anyone of significance and really no hope at getting any good player by trade considering the players we have.

But then again if BC (and hopefully rest of management) is removed from this franchise, that's the best thing that could happen above all.

I have to give him credit where it's due, he's an awesome salesman. I'd hire him to sell my shyte. Man makes profits but wow is his evaluation of talent piss poor. It's really incredible how bad he's been and still have people defend his results and decisions. Dudes put a serious spell on his fanboys but the mist is starting to clear.

Folks, the man needs to be fired.

Not just Morey. Look at the decent roster of totally available players Dallas cobbled together.

The only concern I have with firing BC is MLSE hiring another clown to take over. Ed Stefanski is not that great himself if hes suppose to be the successor.

Which is a concern, though has nothing to do with firing Clownangelo.

Lyin' Bryan must go because he has done an extremely poor job in his almost 7 years here. No other reason needed than that.

As to his successor, there are some valid candidates out there, but if MLSE does indeed go out and hire another guy who turns out to be a poor GM, then that's on them. And we'll be back here in a couple of years saying the same things about the new GM and that it's time he's fired and so on.

Ideal timeframe:
Clownangelo fired no later than tonight, with news of same hitting the streets tomorrow.
The search for the new GM starts 3 seconds after BC walks out of the room with his walking papers.
Stefanski or any other figurehead takes over on a very temporary basis, without any freedom to act on his own re. trades.
The new GM (Troy Weaver, etc.) takes over within a week.

Patient still? 7 years in Toronto, 2 playoff appearances, 4 straight and possibly 5 without the playoffs, no significant improvement and you're still willing to give him more time?

Not every move he's made is bad and he has strengths but it's time to move on. It's over.
