I love it. They complain about not having Jason Kidd! Really he's like 81, he's gonna miss games. Yes Jason Kidd is a floor general but at that age he cannot be your only good floor general or that team will suffer. It's a 82 game season guys are gonna get banged up. It's part of the game DEAL WITH IT KNICKS FANS!

I've said several times throughout the GT that Lopez posting up again Chandler was a bad decision.

As soon as the ISO plays were called for Lopez, I was screaming at the top of my lungs "NOOOOOO!!!" at the stadium. My wife said I looked I was going to clock someone when Lopez was called to post up in the 4th quarter and it resulted in an offensive foul. That playcall was bad, especially against Chandler. Even if Chandler flopped, Chandler made Lopez take really difficult shots all night long.

But Lopez and JJ are different stories anyway. Lopez has posted up many times this season, and while he's not expert at backing down his defender, he's been way more effective at making his shot after posting up. It's simply not working for JJ.

Steve Kerr, folks

TNT's Steve Kerr says you need a "special" player in the NBA and Carmelo Anthony is why the Knicks will be better than the Nets.

What's this douchebag's problem? He whined about rondo being out when we beat Boston, he whined about Kidd being out last night and this is what he says after last night? REALLY?

Everybody knows Deron isn't special. He sucks. Total bum. Hate that guy.

Yeah, I like how the consensus around the league up until now was that Deron was the better player, outside of a small handful of people. But 13 games into a season, when Melo is hot to start the year, and Deron is dealing with injuries but is still playing quite well, and it's enough to completely change the perception to Melo being on another level than anyone on the Nets.

Strange. Small sample size FTL.

He's trying to back them down because he can't get by on the dribble, so he's instead using his strength. A few times we got him on a switch against a PG, he was able to back them down and finish or fade. But when he's done it against SGs and SFs, he just doesn't get enough lift to be able to finish.

So we have a guy who can't get dribble penetration, can't finish on post ups because of no elevation, and can't hit open shots be it in stand-still or catch and shoot situations?

What else do you want Avery to do FOR him?

At some point, he's gonna have to knock down those open jumpers, or he'll be completely worthless for this offense.

http://thebrooklyngame.com/deron-williams-passing/

I was looking for a highlight reel of his passes that game, found it from the YES network site. Really sick passes throughout the game, and honestly, I think you could make a case he was the best player on the court that night, despite Melo going off. He was in complete control of the offense that night.
