The plays aren't anything spectacular but I think this video exemplifies how skilled he already is at this stage of his career.

Valanciunas is actually built pretty similar to Duncan and has the same type of body movement (not the skill -- so chill out some of you lol). But he could really become one of the top centers if he keeps refining his game. I wish the Raptors would blow it up and start the rebuild around him....and Wiggins ;)

I like his man to man D

But he looses track of his guy when they move off the ball almost everytime I watch him play D.

Common mistake for a rookie, but he'll need to really improve on that as the year goes on.

Great player though - once he settles in and gets used to knocking down shots running off screens in the league - which is only a matter of time until he does consistently - he will be very good.

And when/if he improves his handle as the years goes by, and learns how to get to the line with his athletic ability and explosiveness - he will be great.

True that. Maybe that's why Casey doesn't like playing him that much, but he's gotta take that first step eventually, and he has the most potential for defense on this team this side of Jonas.

It's incredible how much ground he can cover moving off ball, he's basically able to flash to the corner on that first catch and shoot with a single step back. Casey really needs to run some actual plays for him on a consistent basis instead of sticking him in the corner in the event the ball is swung that way.

honest, this video irritates me as it just had to be the time he played duncan, and i'm a huge duncan fan. but if it were drummond, i'd probably have done the same thing.....maybe called is AD vs spurs though

Jeremy Lamb came in and stroked two threes in mop-up duty tonight.

Yay?

Yeah Andre looks lost at times, his heads spinning, right now the game is so fast for him, taking that into account I still think he has a huge effect when he’s on the court. Its beating a dead horse but he should be getting 24mpg.

Drummonds been a beast in the paint on defense and on the boards. idk what you guys are watching.

He was the leading rebounder in the game for both teams tonight with 9 in only 24 min.

His last 4 games he's avg 10 rebs and 2 blks in only 20 mpg and he's changing a ton of shots inside too.

he needs to finish shots that he's finished before around the rim. he also missed 3 dunks. just saying, he's capable.

I didn’t really say anything negative, I’m ecstatic with Drummonds play so far, the fact is he has alot of room to improve which makes me all the more excited for his progress. He needs more minutes so he can play through those mistakes.

Lamb looked impressive in the two minutes he played tonight. So far this season he looks MUCH better as a catch-and-shoot player

I think lamb is legit I would love to get my hands on him as a blazer fan and he is who I really wanted at 11 over Leonard..

Question for guys who may have watched more or payed more attention to big name rookie pgs in the past. How were they on defense when they first came into the league?? Guys like Paul, rose, Westbrook, Williams, and Irving

There has been a ton of critisicm on the blazer board over lillards d and I just want to know how common it is for rookie guards to be bad on d

Westbrook was actually used as a defensive stopper when he was a rookie, back when he actually exerted effort on the defensive side of the ball.

Can't help you on the rest.

Irving is a horrendous defender and D. Will was a very poor defender and is still pretty poor. Paul was a pretty good defender. Westbrook actually got worse, he was better in his rookie season. Rose was average and got a bit better.

Lillard is as bad as Irving defensively but he has time to improve.
