Well.. the reason I usually don't posts in GT is because I wanna enjoy watching the game not always posting every chance I get.

However, I did notice it as well.. we dropped significantly on posts.

Can we get a roll-call on who is still active on this board? How about in a new thread?

When things go bad all the band wagoners go away. Rebuilding teams are not a thing of beauty. Even though, its rewarding to see the young guns grow and develop.

It's still early in the season but what is the consensus around here on Afflac? What do you think about him so far? Be honest

People are still here, This board has never been fan boy driven, there just isn't much of anything interesting to talk about.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Afflalo has been very good, maybe a little better than I was expecting because DEN had more offense and depth last year for Afflalo to score unhindered. Compare his stat line to Iguodala and Joe Johnson, no big differences. BBD is the inconsistent one out of Afflalo, JJ and him, but he is getting more FT's and is hustling out there every game. Jameer will need to try to stay healthy so he can be as consistent as JJ and Afflalo, our two best players right now imo. I don't see Turk avg'ing more than 10-12 ppg (even tho his 4-5 APG/RPG and 3PM's will be good) but maybe Nich, Vuc, or Harrington can bring another more consistent element to the offense. The SAS-ORL match was the first game that had me shaking my head at the Magic defense which is a huge surprise considering there's no Dwight.

There are a lot of fans like myself that are disappointed in the Dwight trade, don't believe in the new management or coaching staff, and look at the young "prospects" and are just not impressed. There just isn't anything to be excited about here and this whole thing isn't as fun as a lot thought it would be. Like I said after the Dwight trade, this organization is in the dumps right now in many ways. I'll still follow casually but I'm just not interested in the NBA as a whole much nowadays.

I guess we won't be seeing lopez...

maybe nick can get going again -- he's had several sloppy games and hasn't looked very confident out there recently.

Nik imo has been getting frozen out of the offense and it might be because he's messing up but there were times he had great position down low but no one gave him the rock. If you want to help him build some confidence then trust him and give him the ball. To be quite honest i rather give him the rock down low than i would Baby because at least he won't force it and is willing to move the ball

I actually have more faith in this management than the last one. Looking at the other rumored trades I'm glad we went with the one we did. Bynums knees, whites health, Lopez feet. All the other trades had question marks. I feel like we made an informed thought out decision on all the moves so far. Which is sifnificantly better than when Otis seemed to just panic and trade. It sucks you can't find fun in the rebuilding but personally I'm enjoying this year knowing we are bad but looking in the long term in comparison to last where we had no end goal and weren't a championship team.

Right now, I think I'd rather keep JJ and trade Afflalo. I honestly don't think he's that much better than Redick, plus JJ is also a facilitator on offence. Arron on the other hand halts ball movement.

This is something that frustrates me also. Vucevic gets great position on the block and is constantly ignored on offense. He could score inside for since he has the size and the skill to do so.

Or, that game threads don't crack 15 pages anymore. We used to get 40-50 pages easy sometimes.

I didn't realize we had so many pure Dwight fans on this board. I see them defending Dwight on the General Board and just have to smh. Sad really.

Richboy, it's pretty sad.

Is he really? He swore up and down that he's a fan of several teams including the Magic. I guess it's much like maginno - he was fan of SVG and iggy being a T-Mac fan.

Nik's got two glaring weaknesses right now aside from the usual lack-of-experience-stuff.

1.) Playing to soft
2.) Can't catch a pass to save his life.

we need to put some tar on his hands and abuse him emotionally -- player development.

We all have more than one team we like to follow. Pistons and Magic are my top priorities with the Heat being a 3rd being I lived in south Florida as a kid and spent time in Detroit off and on my whole life. But, I lived in Orlando the longest. All (3) teams have had great success during my stints in those cities.

Haha, I don't. Not in the NBA, anyway. Magic (NBA), STL Cardinals (MLB), and to a much lesser extent IU Basketball (NCAAB). Born in St. Louis, raised in Orlando, school at IUB. Those are my teams.
